Yeah some drop off is to be expected, I see his ERA going from 2.87 to around 3.87, and his strikeouts will certainly go down, since about 30 of those are freebie's from other pitchers in the NL, and a lot of NL teams have 7, 8, 9 guys who are pretty terrible, along with AL East being the toughest division. Ether way he should be alright as a No. 4 guy

Teixeria had a bad April last year too, yet he finished second in the MVP voting behind Mauer, with 39 HR's, 122 RBI's and a .292 Average , If Ortiz put up those numbers last season people wouldn't be talking. People generally think when older players don't preform there washed up, rather then younger guys who are just going through a slump.

How can you exclude Pettitte from HoF for admitting to use HGH? A drug which the MLB doesn't test for. There's players in the game today that still use today because of that fact. -

I think it was a good move by the Yankees to pass on Bay/Holiday and Lackey, now next off season they can pick up Cliff Lee and Carl Crawford -

Anyone else have a feeling this will re-open the door for Damon now that Melky is gone? Damon had at one point been reportedly willing to accept a two-year contract worth approximately $20 million from the Yankees, who countered with a $14 million pact at the same length. I'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult for them to come to an agreement.

They have 375 million in revenue after all costs, money is simply just a number to them, they could pay for a 2nd top dollar team if they so desired. But as you can see money alone can't buy championships. How much did the Sox spend in there 86 year drought?

Unless Halladay is traded he won't even have a chance to be in the playoffs, and the Red Sox have some weaknesses to fix this offseason to they plan on taking out the Yankees / Angels in the playoffs next year.

You need to spend money to make money. Look what George Steinbrenner did, he bought the Yankees for 10 million Dollars and now the franchise is worth 1.5 Billion, not a bad investment eh?

Its not pathetic, its just proof that because you spend the most, it won't guaruntee anything more then a playoff appearance, you could have all the talent in the world but unless the team has chemstry and plays like a good team should they won't get very far.

Yankees will let Matsui go his own way because he cannot play the field, though there will be other teams interested if he dosen't retire. They may give Damon a 2 year contract I think Andy will retire on top. They'll try to sign Free Agents Matt Holiday and John Lackey
