  1. And Boras continues his quest to get Mr. Holliday to NY: Damon and Holliday both are represented by the same agent, Scott Boras. "They could play Matt Holliday in right field, too," Scott Boras said. "He has a strong arm. They have needs for two outfielders."
  2. "Girardi said he was likely to switch from uniform No. 27 to No. 28 next year, signifying the next quest. " LOL off-topic, but still... Can Girardi just change his uniform # to the Yankees payroll figure for next year? 215?
  3. off topic .... anybody reading this funny twitter?
  4. btw mod.... you killed the thread that spelled "acquired" right. Ha, well, I had to fix it, but whatever.....
  5. I like the thought of Baldelli finding a cure for his disabled list trips.
  6. thank god.
  7. to edit a thread title - you need to click "Go Advanced" after you have clicked the Edit feature
  8. it's weird, i had just finished reading an interview w/ Buster Homely at ESPN where he said the Red Sox won't do anything big this offseason, they'll 'just get a Jeremy Hermida type'.
  9. but i fixed the spelling.
  10. Get us that pitcher in your avatar -- And all is forgiven:thumbsup:

  12. per Ken Rosenthal, the little man at Fox Sports:D
  13. 15 days (but players can officialy file for their free agency the day after the world series concludes.)
  14. * "Red Sox are cheap" ALERT I wish the Red Sox could win the world series every year, so we don't have to hear these mysterious tales of them pocketing the money and not caring about winning.
  15. With 0 superstars, no real stud pitchers like Petey in his day and the highest prices for bleacher seats in America I'll watch them on tv until they give me a reason to go in. Oh, brother... *and by the way, outside of a Felix Hernandez or Roy Halladay, there's almost no one in baseball that is close to "a stud like Petey". In his prime, he was the ultimate showman and ace.
  16. by the way, just by coincidence... the Yankees and Red Sox both won their last world series the year following not making the playoffs. of course both teams had to make some moves to reverse their fates. But buying CC Sabathia, Teixeira, and Burnett never hurts and it locked up that whole 'team of the decade' thing for Jacksonianmarch. Thank goodness.
  17. The Yankees won 3 world series in the 90's, two of them back-to-back.... that felt more impressive actually. these two 2000's world series by the Yankees were spaced so far apart. I mean Congrats to them, it's awesome, but.... well... 2004 and 2007 by the Red Sox was tremendous and the Red Sox had the absolute greatest comeback in sports in '04. They became a model team and oh s***... no one can take away any of these two franchise's accomplishments, so it's all debate anyway. by the way, Nike had a "Dynasty" tee-shirt with the yankee logo in some advertisement at the bottom of this webpage. the 2009 yankees haven't technically been part of a dynasty. (i guess Nike is making money off the theme of counting all their world series won)
  18. Lee tired in the 8th, it was more that.
  19. Wow.... Teix hitting line drives in last year's ALDS.... Oooooooh, impressive They were still all singles, he hardly killed the Sox at all.
  20. I wanna say Congrats to Mark Teixeira on being the new Arod unclutch. It's time for him to get a half-human, half-horse painting of himself to shake his unclutchness...
  21. WOOOOOOOOOOO Feliz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. If you secure a wild card berth and then have to go through NY, then you lose homefield to the best home field team in baseball. Every little advantage counts A Yankee fan seriously should know how many times they've been beaten already by wild card teams, including the Red Sox. And stop being a troll and thinking we have to go through your club every year. In 2007 (and 2004 basically), the Red Sox simply had a better club than the Yankees. The World Series goes through whomever is the best team that year.
  23. Let's face it. It's hard to compete with the Yankees when they buy all three of CC Sabathia, AJ Burnett and Mark Teixeira AND open a stadium this year heavily payed for by taxpayers. This is the most store-bought team I can recall in ages. People whined about the Yankees in the late 90's, but I didn't see what was so unlikeable about how the Yankees operated back then. Sure, we later found out a number of them were on drugs (HGH, Roids, etc.); but so was much of baseball. Those Yankees were built on the essential pieces being from the farm. They were nothing like this Yankees team that wasn't even in postseason last year and could never be without purchasing Sabathia, Burnett and Teixeira... lord, they were definitely put together to buy it this year. God bless the NFL.
  24. I guess it won't be Phillies in 5 games LOL @ "J-Roll" That moron. And he's done NOTHING in this World Series. He reminds me of that other bigmouth (that Rollins is friends with by the way), Torii Hunter.
