  1. That when someone makes a gamethread, they usually continue to make the gamethread until the Sox lose. It's all about mojo. We're superstitious around here.
  2. YOURE RUINING THE MOJO NOOOOOOOO
  3. This sounds more like irrational hatred for someone who doesn't play enough, and doesn't fit the whole "dirt dog" code here in Boston. He pretty much lived up to his contract, his OPS+ was very high for most of the deal (including two years where he was well-above the value of his contract), when he did play, he was more than valuable enough to counteract his absences. He's not very good anymore, he might be out of gas, but you can't seriously say he was anything less than good during his contract. You make it seem like he missed 50 games a year, and hit .220 with 5 homers and 0 production. JD Drew was an efficient player who guy on base and hit the ball well. This is not like Gardner where you can look at his offensive production and see flaws in his WAR, Drew's value comes from his offense with his UZR padding it only slightly. I'd take Drew, even if you do think his production is discredited because he's out with pinkeye, or hurt vag, or whatever. It doesn't matter, his offensive production was good during most of his contract, you're way off saying that this crap discredits everyone who agrees with that.
  4. ZZZ, stick your nose somewhere else, I said he was attacking someone who's younger than him. Try reading, it helps.
  5. \o/ I'm just a fan, I don't pretend to know what goes on out there. Even if I paid to watch the games, which I do not, I would not be having a hissyfit like you are. Aren't you like 50 or something?
  6. Didn't I tell you to take your chill pills old man? Jeez, old guys get grouchy when it's late, maybe oldtimerz disease is kicking in. Hmmm, anyways, I'm glad you're so enraged by Lackey's performance tonight, because it proves that regardless of how he performs, you're unsatisfied as a "customer". You're just some fan, you don't know what it's like, so I think criticizing someone of "talking out of their ass" is just a wee bit hypocritical. Anyways, pillz plz.
  7. I think there should be two game threads, one for normal people, one for crybabies who like to cry at everything, then they can cry to each other and give each other tissue to cry into.
  8. Lol, look at all the e-peens coming out today.
  9. Meh, people cry when we play well, people cry when we play like s***. I should just not read the baseball threads, most of it's unintelligent BS fair-weather crybabies who think a skid is equal to the end of the world. Relax, life is just fine, it's not the apocalypse, it's a skid, and there's plenty of baseball left. Watch, when they start winning, some of the whiners will keep being whiney pessimists, some of them will evolve into complete homers, making threads about whether or not they win 100 games or not. None of them will be there just enjoying it, and not be dramatic about it, those people are the ones who are currently disappointed, possibly frustrated by how they're playing right now, but not about to an hero over it. To those people, good job.
  10. Gom was funny, great at trolling, but he crossed to line a lot. He started to get deeper into personal attacks towards the end of when he was still posting, that's what got him the axe. People gave it back to him, but he made some remarks in very poor taste.
  11. It's kind of sad that he's only going to end up bumping a couple of threads, though, versus all of the other ones.
  12. it's pretty simple, game management is overrated because your guys in the end are the ones who are supposed to perform. There's really nothing that takes too much brainpower involved in game management, picking your pitcher is mostly just some simple matchup decision. If your guy f***s up it's his fault, not yours. There are some decisions that obviously make you go wtf, like putting Pedro in versus the Yankees to get the crowd back into it and on short rest is a wtf move. Putting Matt Guerrier in to face A-Rod and Tex is a huge wtf too. Putting Wheeler in because he's supposed to be reliable is not, putting Bobby Jenks in is not. Those decisions can hurt your team, Tito is a great players manager, which is what managing is mostly about, especially in the AL. Baseball is not a tactics sport, the game management is so overrated, people get so upset when Tito goes with Wheeler or Jenks, it's not his fault, these are the guys he's supplied with, they're the ones supposed to do their job. I actually used to be in the same boat, where I thought Tito's game management held this team back, not the case though, rather his player skills gives them an advantage as a team.
  13. You said the Phillies had the upper hand, you did not say they had the upper hand in pitching. To me, it's more "clear" that you were trying to say the Phillies had the upper hand overall. It's not really a big deal.
  14. Totally just put words into my mouth, you said they had the upper hand, not the upper hand in pitching. Stick to what you said please. And I did not say anything about bad pitching, I don't know where you got that, but a bad offense will get you nowhere as well. All I said was that it's a cliche to say that stuff, nothing more, nothing less.
  15. Everyone everywhere needs to like seriously stop with these cliches like defense wins championships. And yes, the Phillies do have a good offense, a very good offense with all of their players 100% actually. The Phillies don't have an upper hand or any of that crap, they're the most complete team in the majors, but I don't see how they have the upper hand at this point, they're two powerhouse teams that should make for a good matchup.
  16. I dunno, he didn't seem like he was anti-Red Sox, he had a serious love for Tito and Carl Crawford, the rest of them were lucky, and we would be losing still without Tito I guess. He doesn't post anything useful, he's just annoying because from what I could tell, he was actually a Red Sox fan who was just plain old ignorant. It got to be very frustrating, lots of old posters tried to explain stuff to him, and he would just shake it off and call everyone stupid because we use sabermetrics, and we apparently need to use real stats, like RBIs and stolen bases and stuff like that. He kind of reminded me of a more aggressive version of that TheMino007 (or whatever numbers it was) guy.
  17. Oh my, yes, this is awesome, thank you for banning him. I usually say this jokingly, but his posts were literally giving me headaches. I've never seen a seemingly serious poster be so ignorant, it was extremely frustrating/annoying.
  18. Yeah but if we did that a couple years ago, you'd have people like Crespo showing up.
  19. Is your sole purpose of posting here to be annoying?
