Btw it's obviously not Hamilton's fault in any way, but I understand fully how it could take some time to get over that. He not only witnessed the guy fall to his death, but he also made the last interaction with him before he died. That could have some serious psychological effects. I know it would take a long time for me to sleep at night if I interacted with someone moments before they were killed. I become emotionally attached to people very easily, Hamilton might be the same way.

Oh come on, it's a shame that fans get to vote them in, but the Red Sox usually got tons of guys in there too. I remember when it used to always look like a Red Sox/Yankees vs. the NL game when the starters came out. Like 7 out of the 9 starting spots were Sox or Yankees. Manny, Ortiz, Damon, Varitek, A-Rod, Jeter, Giambi or something like that. It's not just the Yanks who do that crap.

Stats pl0x. I know you have something against Pedroia, you've always got this 'tude about him, he's overrated this, he's not that good that. Fact is, Pedroia is an elite defensive 2nd baseman with well above-average offensive skills. Pedroia has had a higher WAR in every season but one. This isn't a WAR that's put afloat simply by better play in the field either, Pedroia has almost the same career OPS+. I change my mind, Pedroia is not only on the same level, but he is better than Cano, pretty much every stat supports that.

I also agree he needs time off, there's obviously something wrong. I'm also not saying he's not terrible this season, just some clarifications before you call me a Lackey defender.

Sorry, but we did not pay him to be an ace. And percentages of starts with 5 ER or more given up is a very flawed way to rate a pitcher. We paid him to be a solid pitcher, which he certainly has not been. However, he showed signs of being a somewhere a little under 4 ERA pitcher last season for significant time, and I'm not ready to say he's a lost cause at this point. He was never an ace, the people who thought he was paid to be the ace of the staff are certainly disappointed, though. Too bad he's only been a good 2nd or so quality pitcher for most of his career. I think a good amount of the hatred towards Lackey is irrational. While it's okay to be disappointed, it's sort of odd that your expectations would be so high for him.

He was a character, that's about the best way to describe him. He was pretty rude, anti-Sox, huge Yankee homer, but for some reason there were a lot of people on the site who didn't hate his guts, that reason being that he was a pretty cool dude off the site. Still a ass either way you slice it, but he wasn't putting on the Gom Troll Show whenever you talked to him on AIM. His best redeeming quality was that he was as good at taking the harassment and trolling as he could dish it out. He was from Egypt, and lots of cabbie jokes were used on him, which he would play along with to the point that it was hard to tell if he was or wasn't actually a cabbie sometimes. Also, he submitted a screenshot once that he accidentally (probably) forgot to close his porn in his browser, so there was a tab for YouPorn open, which he never lived down. (It was a screenshot of I think Matt Holliday's hot/cold zones or something like that, I'd have to re-check, but it was pretty funny). But yeah, lots of people remember him for being inflammatory and irrational.

If he puts in the wrong guy, you'd complain, if he uses up the bullpen and they have nothing in case Lester starts to lose it, you'd complain tomorrow, if he leaves a reliever in for too long because he doesn't want to use up the entire bullpen, you'd complain. This site produces so much hate when the Sox lose.
