  1. So how does this equate to the crap that you lifted directly from someone at a football website? It's obvious you just now learned how to optimize your Google searching, good job. It's a shame that your previous post shows that everything you said before was just farting out of your mouth (keyboard) because this is actually right.
  2. I don't really care, would have been funny that's all.
  3. He won't now, because his argument has been exposed as, well, not even being the product of his own brainpower. I was baiting further response, sort of a "dig your own grave" before you bring out the evidence that he was just blowing smoke up everyone's ass.
  4. I wasn't saying he actually 'pulled it out of the air'. I was setting the stage for him to elaborate, which I think would have been amusing.
  5. Remember when Johan Santana completely dominated, but finished with 16 wins, so he lost the Cy Young to I think Bartolo Colon just because he had 20 wins pretty much? Or when Randy Johnson did that, except his record was like 13-13 or something, even though he led the league in almost everything else? I think that was that D-Backs team that lost 110 games, too.
  6. Bingo, I saw this, as soon as I saw the backpedaling I knew he used was using Google. I just wanted to see how he would respond to me simply thinking he "pulled it out of the air".
  7. Cliche, just like defense wins championships, just like every other cliche. A cliche is a term that is overused and often not entirely accurate, if pitching wins championships, then the team with the good pitchers would win every year, which is not what happens. Good pitching has the opportunity to shut down a slugging offense better than a team with crappy pitching, but you can have 4 aces all you want, if your lineup is filled with Julio Lugos, you're not winning crap.
  8. That^.
  9. The captain is baseball is one of the great honors of the sport, it's not like football where every team has like 10 captains, it's not one of those sports where someone has to be a captain. That said, it's definitely Pedroia if there is a captain after Varitek.
  10. His bat this season is good, his defense is meh. This is only one year though, out of his entire career. I notice when people have a good season, people start to act like that's the way they'll certainly perform from then on, and they use it to judge the player overall. This year Salty is playing well, but the thing is that some people try to say that's the way he will perform, they assume that's the way he will continue to perform, when it's really a pretty small sample size of success, considering how much failure there was before this season. That said, I'll take it, and I hope he continues to perform like this. And just for those of you who are reaching for your straw, I did not say he was a fluke, but that his success is a small sample size.
  11. I just asked you how many pro athletes you know, no need to get all butthurt QQ.
  12. So how many professional athletes do you know?
  13. I think he was speaking of collegiate teams there.
  14. Oh gee, billionaires don't know how to manage their dang money properly.
  15. Whatever, you pretty much just said your base for this is that he plays for the Yankees and admitted your bias, which is itself irrational. I think when you said that you hate everything in pinstripes, etc. this discussion was over.
  16. I'm glad you're admitting that this is purely irrational hatred. I agree that the Jeter is classy stuff is BS, because none of us know him personally (in all likelihood) and unless you do know him personally, you can't really make that judgment. My issue is with you is pretty much making the opposite judgment. All I ever did was say that he's less of a dick publicly than a lot of other Yankee stars. As for the ASG stuff, it really shouldn't go on his character for not showing up considering that he's done it before pretty much every year. I don't really care about the reason, it just sounds like you're ripping him for the sake of ripping him. I hate the Yankees too, I don't just make up stupid reasons to make fun of their players though.
  17. You're making character judgments based on limited knowledge of his personal affairs. It sounds pretty much like what I described. Yeah maybe he should have just shown up to the ASG, but it's not that big of a deal, some other guy who's more deserving will get his spot.
  18. I never said he was classy, I said he was one of the more respectable Yankees. Also, you're pretending that you know what's going on in Jeter's personal affairs. I'll never claim to know someone I don't know is classy, because I do not know them. This applies to calling them names like weak and classless as well. Also, who gives two shits if he doesn't wish to participate in the All-Star game, for all you know, he might have thought he didn't deserve it so he made up some excuse as to why he was too exhausted to play in it. If he would have said that as his reasoning, you'd rip his tits for that too, saying it's a press move. Hell, if he went, people would just rip him because he honestly doesn't deserve to be there. I agree that there is no one here, unless they know him personally, who should be making judgments about his class, this includes you.
  19. I've always respected Jeter more than the other Yankees, he's never done anything s***** in public like Clemens or A-Rod or some of the others. On top of that he's one of the best players I've seen. 3,000 hits is a remarkable achievement. Think about it, how many players have stepped up to the plate, how many of them have had 3,000 hits? It's a very small percentage. He'll be a legend 50 years from now.
  20. Bautista is better than Gonzo right now. His OPS+ is an incredible 212, Gonzo is at 171, which is significantly lower (This stat is ballpark adjusted as well, iirc). RBIs is a very teammate dependent stat, and is pretty much obsolete for argumentative purposes. So is BA, OBP is much better, and Bautista has a better OBP than Gonzo. I'm sorry, but Bautista is superior to all other hitters right now, in every way possible. Gonzo might be the MVP of the league, because he's the best player on an elite team, something Bautista is not, but he certainly isn't a better hitter right now.
  21. Can someone ban this guy already? It's pretty obvious he's here to "troll".
