These game threads have no activity. All of the optimists have disappeared, all of the realists know it's time to sell and all the pessimists are laughing and saying they told us so.
The pitching is unreal, this team needs a pair of aces. Two, not one, two. Our supposed #2 pitchers are all mediocre this year, and the only one I'm even moderately optimistic about is Bucholz going forward. Lester needs to re-prove himself, Beckett, who knows what the hell he's going to be next year if he's even in Boston. Trends suggest he'll be an ace, but that's the sort of trend I don't really trust in. offensively even, Crawford seems like he's just shot. He's been an atrocious hitter since coming here, and it's extremely frustrating to watch. I never counted on him to return to form, but I didn't expect this again. Hopefully he turns it on at some point and finishes with respectable numbers, but right now it's frustrating to watch.
Either way, this team pissed away month after month, showed signs of coming on, then regressed back to mediocrity.
I'm not saying "f*** this team" or "it's over" even, but it's just not likely at all, and it's time to sell some pieces.
