  1. Yup, I've always been astonished how dominant the Gophers have been over their competition over the past 80 years, but yet have somehow NOT won the most championships. Srsly, they have a winning record against every major team in the Nation BUT BU.
  2. Lol, believe me when I say this, I hate UND with every fiber of my being. We will pass you guys up on the all-time championships list. You better believe it dude, and after that, Michigan's next
  3. I think we all have a common hate for BU. Is that correct?
  4. Most likely his next job^
  5. Because batting average shows what percentage is an actual hit, in this case, it's actually useful for disproving the statement that everything was either a home run or a walk. Typically, when dealing with someone like Delmon Young or Gonzo, you have to look at OBP and not batting average, because they may hit around the .290 range, but then their OBP is only 10 points higher.
  6. Anyhow, McGwire hit .263 and had an OBP near .400. How's he a one-dimensional hitter again? .263 is a decent batting average, it's once you get into the low .250s it gets pretty ugly, and .400 OBP, yeah, the man gets on base. His ability to not get an out somehow doesn't make him un-one-dimensional. I don't understand that in the least
  7. BU, our only major opponent with a winning record against us. >: ( We have an above-500 all-time record against every major powerhouse in the nation but BU
  8. If you're going to risk your job and marriage on an affair, wouldn't you want to do it with something atleast a tenfold better than that?
  9. She's a girl who looks like a guy, what else is there to know? She was probably a little desperate, and Steve Phillips is probably the only guy who would hit that. I mean, we're talking about a dude who said the '08 Tigers had the best lineup in history, Steve Phillips could have easily thought "That's the most beautiful girl in the world right there"
  10. I won't miss him, and the problems are all directly resulting from his own behavior. He banged some ugly 22-year-old whale in favor of his wife, who I can't say I've seen, but not much can be worse than a 22-year-old whale. Anyhow, Steve Phillips won't be missed by anyone on ESPN, and the man's a sexual deviant to add to the reasons why everyone hates him. Thank you, 22-year-old whale lady, for getting Steve Phillips off of ESPN. And good God, whoever said it, don't bring in Towers.
  11. His only skill that can be used offensively is his speed, and that can't even be used because he's a black hole in the lineup. So yeah, we completely agree. Defensively, he's one of the best, his glove is top tier. If Gomez had a bat and an eye, he could be elite, but that's not even close to the case.
  12. Yeah, you really can when all of the guys from the Santana trade are gone, and Gomez was never the right person to trade for in the beginning, and we could have had either: A. Lester or B. Bucholz and Ellsbury or C. Phil Hughes/Ian Kennedy/Melky combinations And we take Gomez and other guys who by the time they're 29 they'll have a chance to be 30.
  13. I have no idea about the two captains thing, usually you just have the one, might has well just let everyone wear the "C" on their jersey. Anywho, Gophers have taken a step back, but the in-state talent is top-notch, and hopefully we can rebound to where we are used to being. UND's goin' down!
  14. Bill Smith traded Santana for Gomez and other guys who are no longer with the team. Santana was, and arguably still is, the best pitcher in baseball. Gomez is a guy who swings at everything and is an almost instant out. We traded Matt Garza and Jason Bartlett to the Rays, and we got good ol' Delmon Young. Matt Garza is now an ace, and Jason Bartlett is one of the Rays' best players now, and a main catalyst to their run last season. Delmon Young has an OBP under .310, and has no ability to lay off the first pitch. The way I see it, we could have kept Bartlett, and dealt Garza for something better than Young, of all the guys we could have got for Matt Garza, a guy who has attitude problems. Santana was too expensive, and if we had to trade him, I'd prefer trading for Ellsbury and Bucholz (Because as a Sox fan, I wouldn't want to give up Lester when we could easily have him and Santana back-to-back). Bill Smith is a moron, simple as that
  15. We have Bill Smith making the moves, would you honestly trust Bill Smith to make a proper trade?
  16. More hit-and-run smug attacks by Dojji
  17. Joe Nathan on the block? That's shocking, especially considering that when he's on, and not playing the Yankees, he's arguably the best closer in baseball (which is to say about 95% of the time).
  18. Reminds me of PWNdroia for some reason.
  19. You'll be stuck at 7, that's for sure there buster
  20. Heh, they suck at college football as of late, but have rebounded, which I think is awesome. In basketball they have never been all that great, just a few seasons. In hockey, yeah, we rock usually. We're gonna catch North Dakota for 2nd all time there bud. It's gonna happen
  21. Gophers rock! Too bad they haven't been the best the past couple years, but it happens I guess? Not huge into it, but I follow
  22. Absotively remember that, 2006, because we were sort of battling to win the division from the Tigers, and Chicago was battling us for the Wild Card (Year where the Twins finished a season with the most incredible streak to win the division on the last day of the regular season, aaaand got swept by the A's). Yeah, it was a big game, couldn't believe that happened, and for THE GOPHERS? They sucked! Who cares about the Gophers?! Well, I do, I love the Gophers, but they sucked, and the Twins were awesome that year, so, yeah.
  23. Agree to disagree on Joe Mauer's future with the team. I think the Twins break the bank to keep him here in Minnesota. Like I said in another discussion, they're expanding the payroll and priority one is to lock Mauer up. Do you think the Twins will really give arguably the best player in baseball up without a fight? Bill Smith is a moron, but to that extreme? I doubt it.
