They could have got JON LESTER. Okay, Bill Smith is mentally retarded, but this is atleast an improvement IMO. It also proves that the Sox could have landed Hardy at very little cost. I mean, Gomez? He's a black hole on offense, with little-to-no pop, and the only upside he has is his speed and fielding ability, and the first of which really doesn't matter considering that he never gets on base to utilize his speed as an offensive weapon. I think this is probably THE best move Smith has made as GM
