  1. That's understood, I know what you mean, but it's only 10 games in. Obviously you have to try to make some adjustments, but is Youk gonna keep hitting this poorly? Not just him, everyone who we know that has capability of hitting so much better than they are, are they going to keep hitting like this? I don't think so. That's something that the FO wasn't counting on either. Statistically speaking this team should be much better than it has been playing. Not statistically this year, but last year/past years. I just think the panic would be a little more legit if it were even 50 games into the season. But it's been 2 weeks.
  2. Too bad he took steroids though...
  3. 10 games into the season he's saying it's all over.
  4. The Sox have a consistently solid lineup all the way through, with what is probably the best pitching in baseball, and what is one of the best defenses in baseball. This is just before the season on paper kinda stuff, but if you think about it, they can't continue to underachieve like this all season. I know it's a logical fallacy, but at the same time, it's only logical that they'd rebound. It's 10 games into the season, I'd wait until at least half the season was up before saying that we have no chance. As far as my "other favorite team" goes, that's beside the point really. We have mediocre pitching really, Liriano was never expected to pitch as well as he has so far, Pavano looked like he was the same way, then he gets rocked. Baker got knocked pretty good on opening day. I never really sweat it until about half a season's up.
  5. Yeah, true, but right now the hitting is arguably worse than our ability to hold teams to fewer runs. We have a solid lineup, whether anyone wants to admit that or not. Everyone's pretty much performing worse offensively than they have been, and unless the team's cursed, that's not going to continue.
  6. That was back when John Smoltz was a closer.
  7. All you need is glove, glove, glove, glove is all you need.
  8. Tacos are good.
  9. In all fairness, no one's really playing the way that they should be for the Red Sox, as far as the run-prevention goes. And offensively, goes the same. If you think about it really, you understand that in all likelihood, the Sox will be back, 'cause everyone's playing under what they're capable of right now. Like I said, give it some time, it's been a couple weeks, I'm not sweating over it.
  10. Larry Doby was plenty good, don't think you could possibly say that he's "just not Jackie". a lot of people don't realize, but there were black players before Jackie Robinson, just before the color barrier. He wasn't the first black major leaguer, just the first one to play after the color barrier. So much great Negro League talent that never saw the majors, or at least in it's prime. Satchel Paige was pretty old by the time he first broke the majors, and another one was Josh Gibson. Some of the stories about Gibson make you wonder if he could have set records in the major leagues.
  11. I think he's desperate enough to go pretty cheap, I wouldn't mind them taking the risk.
  12. Yeah, he was kinda a product of steroids, but hey, hey got a Cy Young out of it. At least he has something.
  13. I don't watch porn Most of it just makes me laugh.
  14. You probably have entire porn videos on your cell phone anyways.
  15. Don't feed the trolls.
  16. How come everyone thinks it's the end of the world? It's just like ORS says, there's a bunch of people who are obviously capable of so much more, who are slumping to begin the season. Why does everyone blame it on not having this guy or that guy, when in reality, Youk is hitting poorly, do you expect him to finish the season at .220? Or even .290 for that matter? No one's using their head, they think that it's just going to continue on like this. Obviously you need to fix it, but it's not the end of the world. It's not time to call for a trade for Gonzalez when you're 10 games into a season. It's kinda the opposite of when Chris Shelton started a season hitting like 10 home runs in the first 8 games or something ridiculous like that. People were calling him MVP, savior of the Tigers, etc. Tigers were good that year, but he ended up going back to the minors. Things will even out. We're just not used to seeing the Sox start the season with such a slumping lineup.
  17. Well I'm glad I'm a Twins fan too I guess, the Sox have been depressing. Haven't watched games or anything, just see the box scores and stats and all that. The Twins kinda help to balance it out a little, just wish that the Sox could pick it up, glad I got to see a win in my first time at Target Field.
  18. Liking the way the Twins look so far, how bout 'em? Love the pitching so far, with the Baker on opener, and yesterday Pavano sucked it up, unfortunately a game I went to (and still had fun at,
  19. Welcome
  20. God you're an annoying person, which account is it? BOY, PWNdroia? Just stick to one. You're not even one of the funny trolls, you're one of the annoying ones. Go away.
  21. There are a lot of athletes with big mouths who get themselves into trouble like this. I with O-Dawg wouldn't have said anything, he's on my team, the team doesn't need this, he really should just seal his mouth. Just because of two examples, both of them pretty much null and void examples, doesn't make it acceptable for the guy to go running his mouth. I can't stand it when celebrities and athletes do this crap.
