At least they have Gilbert Arenas sometimes to carry the load. The Nets just flat out suck. They'll come close to winning under 10 games this year. That's how bad they are. 9-73 isn't an impossibility, or even an improbability with how bad they really are.

I don't see any knocks on The Big Hurt besides the DH thing. He's really just that good.

I think the fact that he's one of the best hitters of all time overrides the DH thing, especially considering he has played a decent amount of time at first base.

I believe it when Frank Thomas says he did not use steroids. I think he definitely was clean, and if he wasn't, he'd have either been caught, or not been cooperative with the Mitchell Report. I just think he was that great of a hitter. Definitely first ballot IMO.

We all know he has the talent and ability to be pretty damn good when he wants to be, but yeah, like Spudboy said, the "where's his head?" is a big question. I think he could revert back to what he was doing a couple years ago, maybe not the sub-3 ERA, but probably something more similar to what Lester-Beckett-Lackey gets. I think he follows through on that statement.

I thought it was pretty obvious that Cano has considerably more talent than Pedroia... He has more tools than Home Depot. Not saying Pedroia isn't better, because I think overall, he is, but Cano certainly has more god-given talent.
