  1. He also spent quite a bit of time claiming that Beltre would be a huge blow to the Red Sox in luxury tax. He's taking it harder than I thought he would though. He's obviously upset, making posts just to say stuff like "Beltre sucks". I love how he tries to turn every thread into a discussion about how much better the offense was last year, and he hasn't mentioned the defense or pitching at all.
  2. You know what's particularly hilarious about his rant? He said himself that Beltre is good for a 790-800 OPS then claims he's a huge offensive downgrade from Lowell who he just stated had an .811 OPS last year (but could only play 100 games at third).
  3. If you want to discuss the Red Sox offense, there's a thread for that - http://www.talksox.com/forum/talk-sox-forum/13674-should-offensive-regression-expected-next-year.html I'm not going to let you derail every single thread on this site with the same off-topic rant about how the Red Sox offense is so much worse than they were last year with Jason Varitek and Nick Green.
  4. If there's another guy named Imperial who spends his free time baiting on a Yankees board, I promise it's not me.
  5. The bitterness of palpable. Jacko spent quite a bit of his time arguing how Beltre would be a huge blow to the Red Sox in luxury tax. He could have just admitted he was wrong, but that would require a small amount of maturity.
  6. Where did I wish for injuries? Making straw man arguments. That how I know I got you. I never said that's the bench they'd go into the season with, I'm saying they have a lot of work to do. Nothing to get all worked up over, it's OK.
  7. At least for the purposes of the salary cap. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=2616
  8. If they thought he'd develop much more, do you think they'd stunt his growth by making him the backup catcher instead of letting him play more than 20 games at AAA?
  9. Your entire bench sucks. And so does Brett Gardner :harhar:
  10. Or he'll be exposed by major league pitching. He has 45 games major league experience. Just because he's getting more next year doesn't mean he's going to get better. Prospects don't progress on a neat, steady upward curve and many of them don't progress at all. Cervelli's 24 and he has less than half a season under his belt above the AA level. He should probably be in AAA working on his development, not in the majors at this point.
  11. Yes, please do.
  12. So which one is it? "He will become a better player" or "we will see"?
  13. Sounds like more speculation to me. Not every player does better with more MLB action. He's very young and very inexperienced, he could probably use some more time in the minors.
  14. And this is all speculation? Or do you think his 45 MLB games is a reliable sample size?
  15. Let's face it, the Yankees bench sucks. Not a single bench player has 70 games major league experience.
  16. Pretty much. You don't even have a backup OF or 1B. Ramiro Pena sucks offensively and defensively. And your backup C has less than 100 AB MLB experience in which he was offensively challenged. Looks like the Sox have the clear edge in the rotation, on defense and with the bench.
