  1. It's impossible for a player to prove that he can handle the majors until you put him in the majors. I don't consider that to be a valid reason for keeping someone in the minors.
  2. A-Rod just hit a patented NYS home run. Verlander laughed at it, it was so ridiculous. 1-0 Yanks
  3. It's not rushing him. He's proven that he can handle AAA.
  4. No prospect is a sure thing, but you have to promote them eventually anyways. Buchholz has potential to be better than Penny, I don't think anyone would disagree with that.
  5. Lowrie! That's the kind of production I was waiting for.
  6. You do if you have a starter waiting in the minors who can be more than "solid". It doesn't make sense to keep Penny around just so we can say we have Buchholz as a good backup plan.
  7. I saw that one coming... I hope someone's warming in the pen.
  8. Sorry, I don't know what to tell you, I've never had a problem with it. I'm using Firefox, maybe that's the only browser it works on. I'd check to make sure all your plugins and whatever browser you're using are updated.
  9. Yeah, I said last night that Penny's done just fine but Buchholz isn't getting anything out of pitching in AAA anymore. At this point we're stalling his development by keeping him there.
  10. We've done so badly against lefties lately. It probably has a lot to do with Bay not doing anything with the bat.
  11. It's video of an MLB.tv feed.
  12. He has been much better since April. He had a 4.17 ERA (1.42 WHIP) in May, a 3.18 ERA (1.34 WHIP) in June and a 4.09 ERA (1.27 WHIP) in July before this start. Plus his BABIP is .331, so he's been a bit unlucky. But I still wouldn't mind seeing Buchholz get a chance. We've got plenty of pitching depth beyond him in Bowden, Masterson and Matsuzaka. Maybe we could get a decent bench player for Penny, a lot of teams need pitching.
  13. s***. We've gotta make up some runs now.
  14. I love Kevin Millar. He's always helping us out: the dropped throw to end the Mother's Day Miracle, the GDP last time up and now the strikeout with 2 in scoring position.
  15. He's nice enough to break up bar fights for strangers. http://www.tmz.com/videos?autoplay=true&mediaKey=8dc90dba-6088-4f0a-88a6-5d0ccafe6a2e
  16. That's a blast from the past.
  17. Is this a competition between the two teams to see who can strand runners in the most creative ways?
  18. Well I'm not sure that one quite deserves a YOUUUUUUUK! but I'll take the double.
  19. Wow, well that could have ended a lot worse.
  20. You are an embarrassment to your country.
  21. Come on Kotts! Do it for Canada.
  22. A run! Great AB by Baldelli. Let's see how Lowell looks after that slide.
