    We will still have an exclusive window of negotiation after the World Series. And it's not like we're in a horrible position should he leave. We have a bunch of leftover salary to sign another guy like Matt Holliday or Brian Giles (Crawford and Dye both have options which will likely be picked up). Or we could trade for someone, we have plenty of trade chips. But I really like Jason Bay. I hope he stays.

    Buchholz vs. Romero, a couple of 24 year old phenoms selected in the 1st round of the '05 draft. Should be a good game. We have faced Romero once previously. He gave up 6 hits, 5 runs and 5 walks in 4 innings.

The Yankees could sign Holliday and without another team to drive up the bidding, Bay's price will drop. Or the Yankees could sign Bay and we'd be stuck with Holliday.

    Awesome to see Lowell back in the lineup. Hopefully he hits and fields like Lowell, instead of a former shell of himself. He really helps to fill out our lineup. Now we have a .300 hitter with 40 stolen bases hitting 8th instead of a .257 hitter with little patience or pop.

    Sounds like he really does want to stay, and the two sides will get a deal done.     Eh, he could never play defense, that's what killed me. Even when he hit well (as he did this year in a small sample size) he'd kill us on the other side of the ball.

    That's actually not a fact, that is conjecture. Guess they didn't teach that in nursing school.

    So you're saying he's going to be Wily Mo Pena? He's a career .300 hitter, that far outweighs whatever you have to say about his supposed inability to make contact and hit for average.

    How are his contact skills below average? He's a 22 year old in AA with a career .301 batting average. How isn't he a .900 OPS guy right now? His OPS is .883 in pitching friendly Portland. Please try to at least fake objectivity.
