  1. Now we have a rodeo clown wanna-be in the outfield. I like acquiring ball players who aren't afraid to get dirty. Nice addition to the roster.
  2. Damn! The Guardians just signed Julio Lugo. There's another upgrade for SS gone out the window...
  3. I prefer my avatar - 1950's retro.
  4. Me thinks Valentine hung around Tommy LaSorda too long.
  5. Granted the stadium is beautiful, but the last time I was there in 2002 to see the three game interleague series withe the Red Sox, some of the crowd was getting pretty hardcore. Obvious gangbangers, Hispanic and Anglo, (and wanna-be's) were pretty prevalent in the field box section I was sitting in. My only saving grace was being a law enforcement officer and I was carrying my hardware concealed. My wife swore she'd never go back to Dodger Stadium again. And we haven't.
  6. I never have, but as far as I know, you can. Security is provided by the Anaheim Police Department and all they look for is that you don't bring alcohol or glass containers into the ballpark.
  7. I've been attending Angels/Red Sox games since 1961, starting at Wrigley Field, then Dodger Stadium (although the Angels called it Chavez Ravine) and Anaheim.
  8. I'd pass.
  9. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that TJ surgery corrects his attitude as well as his arm.
  10. Julio Lugo
  11. Be careful what you wish for. They could replace Bogar with Julio Lugo.
  12. I know it's baseball season when I hear Vin's voice.
  13. As a matter of trivia, Eddie Matthews was the only Brave to have played in Boston, Milwaukee and Atlanta.
  14. These are just a modern-day rehash of those ugly double knit jobs of the 1970's. Teddy Ballgame and Yaz wouldn't be caught dead wearing them.
  15. I, too, prefer the 1980's road uniform, which was a copy of the road uniform worn from the 1930's until the change to those hideous double-knit uniforms featuring pull-over shirts and beltless pants in the early 1970's. Man, what were they thinking? I've always been a traditionalist (as my avatar attests), and have no love for the home/road alternate jerseys, either. I could also do without names on the back of the road jerseys. If you are a true fan, you don't need a program to know who the players are.
  16. I'd use Lackey like they used Wake - an innings-eater in blow-out games.
  17. With very few exceptions, this team, as a whole, didn't have a "killer instinct."
  18. Very well stated, Spudboy. My sentiments, exactly.
  19. We need the roster spot for someone who can pitch.
  20. The Dodgers have no fans.
  21. Two years on this site and a 126 posts and I'm a "creeper?"
  22. Geez, where do I start? On my truck, I have a Red Sox trailer hitch, window decal, license plate frames and a custom set of California license plates - BOSOX 11. I have more caps, T-shirts, sweatshirts, polos, jackets and jerseys than the law allows. When I go to Anaheim for a game, I wear my 1986 Don Baylor game-worn road jersey.
  23. I was at that game. I loved it that Tiant stuck it to Nolan Ryan. Ryan walked as many as he struck out in that game, or damn close to it. My only disappointment was that Yaz didn't play.
