  1. I wonder how many times he needs to get released before he land in Pawtucket again?
  2. Wow. Again we have to argue about what happened with Wright? Carbo has a valid point. Talking about this topic again after we discussed it for days several months ago. It is what it is now and the Sox have to deal with it.
  3. Except possibly the desire to play there.
  4. Boom. There has to be something to bitch about!
  5. Stop cherrie picking!
  6. Then I stand corrected. He is a lock for Manager Of The Year!
  7. Holy s*** I about fell out of my chair!!!!
  8. Well for several Sox prospects / players losing Merrero will be felt. Along with Travis Shaw, Betts, JBJ, and Swihart, were very close buddies having come through the system together and have been roommates. These guys were very, very close. 3-4 years ago I saw a story of how they all lived together in ST ( minus JBJ who was married ). They knew all about each other. So in that sense, losing Merrero is not such a routine thing. I guess being the 24 pick in the draft is no lock to be an MLB star. Anyway, I saw him play a bunch in Pawtucket. I am sure I saw an error here and there. I just don't recall them specifically. I also saw dozens of really good SS plays. Better than what we have remaining north of AA, anyway. I think he can be a decent replacement type player. Especially on turf where his lateral range, speed and solid arm can save runs. I think he can hit better than .208. Maybe .230-.245. If so, he may stick a while.
  9. Do you ever stop beating this anti-Holt drum? It's clear you and a few other of your buddies don't like Holt. Tuff titty.
  10. Merrero traded to Arizona for future considerations. Best of luck to the guy. He was the best defensive infielder on this team. I have nothing bad to say about him. I guess some people here will have conniptions if Holt remains. I love it.
  11. Where do you get such nonsense? You must grow it on a roof-top garden or something.
  12. Especially since the Skanks got rid of a pretty good manager to bring this guy in. I think he is already a boob. I also think that he can make the leap to doofus in short order.
  13. I think he is out of options.
  14. Hmm. Some people just want to complain. I am hopeful Johnson throws some quality innings. I think that he can.
  15. With Wright gone for 15 games to begin the season it is particularly encouraging to see Johnson look good again today. He threw 77 pitches today and never looked like he was in trouble. Against a real Yankee lineup.
  16. Clearly worth $22. mil times 5.
  17. Today on MLB TV I saw a graphic from Pecola that projected the Yankees to win 97 and the Sox would finish 8 games back at 89. I never trust these expert projections. There are just too many moving parts and those parts are all human with large variability.
  18. I'm watching the other Sox play Texas. So far today Moncada has struck out looking on 3 pitches, singled to center to score a run, and doubled to left scoring three. Of course he pulled a Moncada by falling asleep off the 3rd base bag and got picked-off to end a rally. Doug Fister started for Texas and while I can't say that he got shelled, he did get beat up by a bunch of singles.
  19. I have always like Lonborg.
  20. Or if Calvin Shiraldi had pitched effectively.
  21. Yeah I know. But I wanted to clarify my opinion. And I am a big fan of busting them inside. Just makes the ABs and the game more interesting.
