    I am so glad that you mentioned this. I was just about comfortable with the idea that DD was a straight shooter. Then he spent 18 minutes bullshitting the press today. He said that the salary cap considerations had nothing to do with this decision. Right. Now Cora is on tv selling some of the roster limitations that were forced by Hanley.

    Above all this was a sound business move. Toss away and sentimentality. This needed to be done for the good of the team going forward. And seriously, most other teams would have done the same.

    It does if we assume that DD does not follow this up with some strong moves heading into the deadline. I don't know what those follow-up moves would be but I won't be surprised if more shoes fall.

    I did not see this coming but it is a good move all around. To bad. I s*** all over Hanley but he was fun to have around and regardless of his recent offensive slide he remains an effective and sometimes dangerous hitter. I hope that he is released and it seems that should happen. Some team will snag him at the minimum and get commensurate return or better value.

Here is the link to the Holiday in on Beacon Street in Brookline. This is very close and very simple plus there are tons of good eats in the area. You will have to drive into "the city" to get there from Rt.128/95 but it is easy to find.

It is a simple walk of about 150 yards to the MBTA Riverside Line where you get on a train and ride non-stop into Fenway. It does not get much easier than this. There is also a Hotel on Beacon St. in Brookline where you can get on the MBTA train Boston College / Cleveland Circle Line and it will drop you off at Fenway 1o minutes later. I'll see if I can find a link.
