  1. Welcome to The Rogue Nation.
  2. This is an accurate account. I remember all this stuff.
  3. I am inclined to agree.
  4. You guys can be a bunch of dinks.
  5. I will believe his Mother.
  6. Maybe that explains it. I sent his mother a pm. I hope to hear from her soon. By the way, his sister was a catcher in HS.
  7. I won't bother looking for it but this paragraph is not consistant with what I have read as recently as today on MLB Trade Rumors or elswhere. It was reported that he was a SS with no mention of having played catcher at all. Previously, as in when he was drafted, I read that he was a 3rd baseman in HS. I guess it comes down to who you believe. Maybe I will PM his mother on FB and ask her.
  8. One word. Klell.
  9. Mr. Tingles is dealing. Who would have thought?
  10. Hmmm. I think the Sox did indeed screw the pooch on his development. He was a shortstop in high school. The Sox drafted him and immediately converted him to catcher. Why? Was the Sox system a complete dearth of catchers? Were they desperate for a catcher? No wait. They saw Swihart's body and said "Holy s*** look at this kid. His body screams catcher!!11!" So this was their first questionable decision regarding his development. They rushed him into MLB service in 2015. He was nowhere near ready on both sides of the ball. And yet, he was not a total useless piece of s*** like AJ Persinsky ( sp ). But Like AJ he could hit the f***ing ball. Which he proved by making adjustments after a slow start and hitting .280 for the season. They dicked around with him in 2016 and he got hurt hugging the lf grandstand wall with his foot. Was this his fault? Maybe. But I question why he was out in left in the first place. He should have been converted to 1st base or 3rd base based on his infield experience and his overall athleticism. Sox f***ed this one up, too. He could not squat or run for over 3/4 of the 2017 season regardless of what his detractors on TS may say. They were not in Pawtucket. I saw him play. Or attempt to play. It was not pretty. He raked in winter ball in PR but was infested with a parasite that weakened him and caused a precipitous loss of over 20 pounds. So after hitting over .400 in about 11 games he had to shut it down and go home to recover. This was his fault as well, I assume. Now he is wasting away on the bench with no hope of starting more than once a month. Clearly his fault that he is out of options. Several of you guys act as though he had finger f***ed your adolescent daughter. Unbelievable. I hope he gets a shot on another team and rakes.
  11. I don't know. He was just understated in the short time I spoke with him. But he was never unfriendly or standoffish.
  12. He is still kind of young and has been playing his 3rd year in MLB. I see your point. Maybe he is just a dope?
  13. The Can was must see. I am surprised that his life has not ended in tragedy. He seemed to be a strong candidate for that to happen to him.
  14. I have met him and I have spoken to him ( briefly ) several times. Just seemed a little quiet. But he was always friendly and he did not give me s*** the time I almost ran him over in my Camry wagon.
  15. I am pretty sure that I was first here at TS to mention his throwing deficiencies. I remember getting jumped on by the infection. Regardless, he does seem to be throwing more accurately and effectively now. Which is good.
  16. Living next to Pawtucket I saw Nomar play there many times. He was a string bean when he was drafted. He looked like he would snap in half at some point. Boy could that kid play, though. He does not get a lot of love on this board due to his last year here when he was seen as a Malcontent and a disruption in the clubhouse.
  17. Jim Lonborg started the first game that I attended. They called him Gentleman Jim but he was a bad ass.
  18. He played the entire 2017 season hurt. It was not until winter ball that he was able to squat and run well without restriction. He was raking until he was disabled by a parasite and was sent home where he lost 20 pounds battling the parasite. To call his efforts poor without mentioning this information is not being accurate or fair.
  19. No, it's not just you.
  20. Of course being injured for 1.5 years had absolutely nothing to do with that.
  21. Yes he seems to be different. He has demonstrated ability to hit MLB pitching. He hit about .280 in about a half a season in 2015, I think.
