I am compelled to quote Rick Patino. " The negativity in this town sucks". Yes, a message board is a place for speculation and voicing opinions. However, I do not understand why members continue piss on Crawford (still one of the best pure athletes in North America), Youk - hard nosed Gold Glove caliber corner infielder that can hit, and Cherrington - a man that knows much more about baseball and construction of a team than anyone on this board. The Sox remain one of the elite teams in MLB. Assembling a roster that competes on a yearly basis is a perpetual jig saw puzzle. Pieces are always being added. I very much doubt that our team will flounder in 2012. As currently constructed the Sox will be in the hunt. And as I have said several times here, that is the organization's objective. To be competitive and to make money. Winning a championship is secondary.

I agree. That injury was unfortunate. It will be interesting to see how he has recovered. The kid is one hell of an athlete and plays very hard and smart baseball.

I agree that the board does not need much moderation at this point. But based on history, more active moderation will be needed. I think Pal would be an excellent choice. Emmz would be a solid choice too.

The idea of this turd pitching again at Fenway has nauseated me. I will make a promise to the entire Rogue State that if Rice-K returns to Boston, I will pay Tanya Harding to greet him at Logan with a 44 once Louisville Slugger to the knees. f*** him and the rickshaw he rode in on. And when you come to Boston I would really enjoy meeting you as well. And guess what? Boston has several really, really good Mexican restaurants. One of them is within a ten minute walk from Fenway "Sol Azteca". My friend owns the joint.

I'm still thinking that the Sox swing a trade during spring training. I don't have f***ing clue who would be involved, though. I'd like to see Garza in a Sox uni. The Cubs owe the Sox compensation and Theo knows the Sox minor league players. We'll see.

I think playing rf is a stretch. The kid is a catcher. He needs more time to develop those skills. I'd like to see him get some more at bats this year. I like his bat very much.
