  1. I endorse this post. Every word of it. And, I loved his swing. It was purdy....
  2. Well I guess I must be a "glass is half full" type of person. I remain optimistic about this team.
  3. Yeah, five deep rotations are unusual. Historically (as in the 46 years I've been watching the game) , the number five has been more of a "filler".
  4. Exactly. Few teams have a number five that performs like number three.
  5. They won't cut him. He makes them too much money. I think? Edit: Of course if the tax hit is more than they believe they generate from having him on the roster, well yeah. They could do it. But really, cutting him would be a huge black eye. I can't see that happening.
  6. A Sox Fan and a Yankee Fan agreeing this frequently must mean Armageddon! Oye! I was not serious. I don't see the Sox trying to part ways with the lush. I said what I said with sarcasm. Too bad it does not translate on the interweb.
  7. Let him walk. Let's go with team speed, not power.
  8. Hahahahahahahhahahahahah111111!!1!!!1 Great post.
  9. Yup. I think there will be run on tampons by what I have been reading here for the past 8 or so weeks.
  10. There is just nothing better to talk about? The Nats? really?
  11. I spelled it phonetically. I make no pretense about my ability to speak any other language.
  12. "This".
  13. Because people have a short memory. And they like to make bold unsubstantiated statements just to draw attention to themselves. One thing I have learned (it took a long time) is that when I have little or no knowledge of a subject, I shut the f*** up until I have learned enough about it to speak authoritatively about it. I guess some people have yet to learn this lesson.
  14. I have never understood all this Crawford hate. Yes, the Sox may have payed too much for the guy. Yes, he had, for the most part, a dismal 2011. Yes, the press made a mountain out of a mole hill with the BV phone call "story". Big f***ing deal! Get the f*** over it. This guy is a premier talent. The wrist injury will slow him down at the beginning of 2012 but there is no reason to believe that he has "lost a step" or has forgotten how to play the game of baseball. I expect him to put up career average numbers this year and that the Crow population in Red Sox Nation will see a sudden and dramatic decline.
  15. Yes it was. I hope this thread does not devolve into a s*** storm.
  16. Excellent f***ing post. Quite eloquent, actually.
  17. Here is my fearless prediction: The Sox will play at least 162 games of baseball in 2012. There. I said it.
  18. "Summary- I like these guys for depth. Solid #5 options. But these guys aren't going to be the solution if Lester/ Buchholz/ Beckett gets hurt or underperforms. I really can't see this team seriously considering going into the season with them, there has to be another move coming, there must be. " Pal, I think this is a great idea for a thread. Admittedly, I know very little about any of these guys. My take on all this is that these guys are truly here for depth purposes. The kind of depth Username (I believe) spoke of in another thread. Guys that can spend time in Pawtucket and be brought up in an hours notice for an emergency "spot" start. I do not think any of them are targeted to be a 4 or 5 starter to begin the season. At least I do not hope so! But who knows? Maybe one of them will "stick to the wall" as Jacko has said. I still believe that the Sox will make a move (trade?) prior to breaking camp. We'll see.
  19. Where is Derrick Lowe? Has he signed? ;)
