Still, the Yankee rotation has been better than many had expected. It will be interesting to see how CC performs throughout the season. I for one do not believe that his velocity is down JUST because of the weight loss. If he is healthy, I suspect that he will adapt one way or another. Good veteran pitchers continue to learn and change to remain effective.

Also, I'm a little pissed because I fear that I won't be able to watch the Sox game. Da Brunes are playing at 6:00 and I suspect NESN will broadcast that game and probably air the Sox game on NESN Plus which I don't get on my cable. Balls! If anyone has a link to a clean, reliable site where I can watch the Sox game I'll put you on my Christmas list if you direct me to it! A few days ago someone posted on a game thread a link to a site. Unfortunately, I could not really see because the site said I needed to download some video player. I did not do this because I was afraid of downloading a virus or some other malware crap. Help please?

I certainly don't claim to know all the details. And really, I'm not sure that I remember all that I knew at the time!!!! However, I have a recollection that the deal was reportedly "done" ( this is what I was hearing in the Boston media at the time ). Then seemingly overnight Horseface had a deal with the Yankees. I remember that while the Sox were courting Horseface, the Boston media was reporting that the Yankees had no interest in him ( lol ). Then just before the Sox were about to sign Horseface, the Yankees signed Nick Swisher. I was jumping for joy at the time because I saw this as a major victory for the Sox! After all, the Sox were about to get the all world Horseface, while the Yankees had to sign Swisher. Maybe my memory is not all that great? In any case, the Yankees signed Horseface and he has been a monumental bust ( in MY OPINION!!! ), while Swisher proved to be a comparative steal by being productive and versatile for the Yankees for far less money. The Yankees should have kept Swisher. But hey, who the heck cares???? They made a mistake signing Horseface and compounded this mistake by letting Swisher slip away!!!!!! Ultimately, as Bell says, it does not really matter.

The Sox offense is in disarray and has been to a large extent impotent so far. Dose anyone here really believe that this will continue throughout the entire season? Loosing Ellsbury was a big blow and injuries have hurt as well. Then we have guys like Ortiz who have underperformed. Things will click eventually. I hope.

I agree with what you said. 4/70 is not realistic. But 4/80 could be a reasonable starting point that may lead to a suitable compromise like 5/100 - 5/110. I don't believe that the Sox FO will pay what the market dictates in this matter. Just my hunch, though. I suspect Lester will be gone and possibly in pinstripes next season.

I fell asleep when it was 4-4. It's nice to wake up to a win. A win is a win, ugly or not. What lousy defense. Even Buch made a bad play when he threw to fist instead of throwing to second in the inning where he gave up the three run dinger. Oye. He is such a dope! I'm really looking forward to when this team can field it's best players all in the same game. I'm wondering why Middlebrooks is taking so long to come back from a calf strain? I wonder if Victorino will be productive anytime soon? I worry that the sore hand will linger and hinder Pedroia. The cortisone shot will mask the pain but the source of the inflammation will remain and possibly become aggravated with everyday action. Still, I am happy that he is back. The less we see of Roberts, the better.
