  1. I just found this tid bit on Boston.com http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2014/04/what_to_watch_during_the_red_sox_homestand_as_the.html " An underrated aspect of the Red Sox' start has been the level of competition they've faced. Through 26 games, 23 have come against teams currently at or above .500. The Yankees, conversely, have played three such contests."
  2. No I haven't. Now that you have mentioned it I will have to check it out. About where is it? Is it diagonally across from the Post Office near Cobb's Lock and Key?
  3. That was much quicker that I had expected. I wonder if an actual vote was taken by the NBA Board of Governors? All those rich people that own teams in the NBA have a lot of money at stake. I wonder how many of these people want Sterling out because of what he said or just because they don't want to see their investment lose value?
  4. It's presently 41F in lovely North Attleboro ( about 40 miles southwest of Fenway ). The sky is gray and the wind is constant. It feels like snow could be on the way!!! I hope that this game happens!
  5. Both teams defenses just got a little better with the return of guys like Victorino and Horseface. Although it may be just temporary. Victorino is likely to aggravate a hamstring and Tex is likely to sprain his taint.
  6. Maybe so. I haven't seen as much of the Yankees as I have seen of the Sox and I certainly have not looked at defensive metrics to conclude that both defenses are underwhelming. My point is that both teams have weak defense as presently comprised.
  7. Which in MY book makes them complicit. For all the "progress" our society claims to have made in race issues, the almighty dollar still remains more important than morals and ethics.
  8. The process of a legal and binding removal of Sterling must be given a chance to work first. If Silver and the NBA Board of Governors fail to take swift action then MAYBE a player work stoppage would be seen as justified. Until then a strike serves no useful purpose and does more damage to more people than has already been done. I have an observation: rjortize remembers when people in this country did have the courage to strike ( even when the strike would hurt them ). None of these rich kid players really care THAT much about this issue. I bet Bill Russell and Jim Brown would have done something more than tweet disapproval. One thing I wonder about. How did the other owners spend so much time in bed with this guy? Did they not know that he was a cancer all along? I sort of doubt it.
  9. Something the Yankees have in common with the Sox.
  10. We've seen plenty of two out hits. Just few with risp.
  11. Is is possible this Soxsport person is trying to be stupid? If so, it is one of the great success stories for the ages.
  12. This is a dreary day here in the Land of NA. This game is making it a little brighter. PILE IT ON SOX!
  13. I'm happy that this game has turned into one that is worth watching after the terrible start by Buch. Let's see how long he can last.
  14. Yikes. Peedey out?
  15. For those among us who want him sent down this is an example of why he has to stay. His hitting will continue to evolve.
  16. Can someone just get a single?
  17. This game is going to be painful to watch. I may have to start drinking again.
  18. Maybe so. But one good thing is that Herrerra can bunt. Lol.
  19. I hope that Workman is close to being fully stretched out. The Sox can't keep sending this version of Buchholtz out there. This is awful.
  20. .500 is a start and certainly a worthwhile near term goal. I don't think that the return of Middlebrooks and Victorino will be a silver bullet. But it is good to finally put the Sox best foot forward. Here's to a string of series wins to get back on track!!! GO SOX!
  21. It's pretty well known ( I think ) that Doubront is a dope. And I strongly suspect the same about Buchholtz as well. Both of them are known to have tremendous talent, yet we rarely know what we will see from either of them. Both had significant stretches of dominance last year. What has happened to BOTH? Also, I really don't understand why after about 3-4 months off, Bucholtz has arm strength issues? I'm told that this is a possible reason that his velocity is down.
  22. Lulz. Maybe Suns is back with another user name?
  23. I don't care about those sports very much either. You are so right about the airwaves being dominated by their playoffs, though. I have "House Cable" where I live. I do not receive NESN PLUS so when the Bruins are playing ( like last night ) I don't get to see the Sox game. This sucks so I can't wait for the NHL playoffs to end in the Boston area.
  24. Doctor Jacko covered it comprehensively! Just one word for your Wife. EPIDURAL.
