  1. What price Abreu? He's already turned down 2/16 from the Angels.
  2. If the goal is 95 wins again, they're just about there already. So we can take the year off and tune into the ALDS next October to see if they can beat the Angels. Go Beckett. Go Lester.
  3. Just as long as he promises no more basket catches in the playoffs.
  4. Randy Winn would do it.
  5. Harden is only 28? There's a lot of meat on that bone.
  6. This.
  7. How much will Abreu cost next year?
  8. If it's not 50/50 for the Yanks, it's not 50/50 for the Sox.
  9. John Henry loves him like a son. He'll never be fired.
  10. Why 50/50? Who has more money than the Sox and Yanks?
  11. Imagine the parental resentment he's carrying through life...
  12. Get em both and put Bay at 1b or DH.
  13. Taking a step back, it's hard for me to understand what would drive a team to want to trade a top player with multiple arb years remaining and no apparent high level replacement on the team. Felix? I think Seattle would be insane to shop him.
  14. Nicely done, beaneater.
  15. People who dwell on Manny/Ortiz as the reason for two world championships will have to acknowledge the inconvenient truth that both were probably juiced while putting up those numbers. The Yanks were juiced for their last couple of rings too. And one of their top current players has admitted being juiced in Texas while he hit about 175 of his home runs. Is he clean now? Who knows. What a sad and pathetic waste of enthusiasm.
  16. For SS, Tito seems to like Jed Lowrie. Don't really know why...
  17. Sour grapes? Hardly. The take home pay in Boston would have been at least as much as he got in NY. When he says he wanted NY all along, I believe him.
  18. But Dojj, you gotta admit the lineup and the pinch hitting moves smack of not hurting certain players' feelings. That needs to change in game 3.
  19. The balls he swung at over his head and in the dirt weren't strikes, even by CB Bucknor's standards.
  20. "And, he wanted to play for the Yanks anyway."
  21. I'd like to see Dusty draw a walk here and there.
