  1. I'd be willing to bet that Pats/Jets this year can break a thousand.
  2. It depends on the opponent, but he will definitely get you good K numbers. Keep in mind that as an injury risk (and playing for a crappy team late in the season) he won't get as much playing time deep in games, so he'll probably have a lower pitch count limit than a playoff caliber team. Not to mention that with 40 man rosters, there will be plenty of relievers. So if IP or Wins are categories or if there are start limits (to prevent streaming) then I wouldn't use Strasburg. But if streaming is allowed (and losses aren't a category) then I don't see a reason not to start Strasburg (other than facing a good offense) I hope I didn't confuse you, I have a lot of thoughts at once.
  3. In my opinion, it depends on 2 things, the most important being his health (as everyone here has mentioned) and the second being what Bedard wants. If we can get a fair value for him (which I doubt) then I'd consider it. I like him better than some of our options, and with a really good long reliever in the bullpen to back him up, I think we could do a lot worse than to have Bedard. That said, we need to clone Aceves and fast.
  4. It's ok, I'm constantly comparing Bedard to Harden over these past few starts.
  5. I think it was a triple.
  6. He probably gets his coaching advice from MLB The Show. On another note, congrats to Salty for his first career stolen base.
  7. So Aceves is a career 23-2. Why can't Wakefield get one of those wins? lol
  8. I'd honestly be surprised if the Sox made it to the WS to face the Phillies. But that said, I don't want to see Philly in the WS if I get there.
  9. This depends on many things, but right now I'd go with Bedard. If we are able to sign Bedard for the future then I think that's the right answer. Otherwise if he leaves and we don't have him for the future, considering that we won't have draft picks, then we'd have been better off with Robinson. So in the short term, I'd go with Bedard, but in the long term I think I'd go with Robinson. That said, I'm not particularly worried about giving up Fife, Federowicz or Rodriguez, although I think that Chiang and Robinson could have done well in Fenway.
  10. Hell, I'd do some nasty and disgusting things for $5 million. $5 million is $5 million.
  11. I wonder if they are going to try and argue that cocaine is a performance enhancing drug. Maybe they should take awards away from Keith Richards and Amy Winehouse before they suspend A-rod here.
  12. No wonder why he was sticking it to Madonna for a while, he probably lost a bet. lol
  13. Nice. I'm going to fire up my gameboy color and pokemon red and get right on that. lol
  14. I think that the worst part of this is that we missed out on having a pitcher named "Dick Harden" we could have ran with that for months.
  15. I personally think that we should get Coco Crisp, Kyle Farnsworth, and Jonny Gomes and start fights with the rest of the AL East.
  16. Unless you plan on waking up at 4:30pm, I wouldn't plan on it.
  17. I barely have enough time to go here anymore. lol
  18. I'd love to see Bedard on the team. We can probably get him for cheap relative to his abilities, and he's played a lot of games in the AL East and done reasonably well. He'd give us more depth which we need and could potentially help us out a lot long term. Granted I'd rather see Guthrie, but I'd rather see Bedard than Buerhle or Kuroda. Or even Jimenez, but that's solely based on how expensive he'd be.
  19. Cmon, so close to 200 wins Wakefield.
  20. What I find interesting is that Carlos Quentin hits righties a fair amount better than lefties for his career.
  21. If we're assuming it's pick one or the other, rather than assuming the salary, transaction costs, and especially if we're saying in general rather than just this year, I'd definitely take Yadier Molina over Salty.
  22. Woah, BostonSouth hasn't been banned yet? He should have been axed back in May.
