  1. I don't think that anyone would have predicted this, but it looks like Forsyth has the best rotation to date, with CJ Wilson, Jeremy Hellickson, Josh Beckett, Jair Jurrjens, and Alexi Ogando in the bullpen. (I'm assuming that Forsyth would put him in the rotation and Ryan Dempster in the bullpen) **I had nothing better to do lol
  2. I know that this contradicts my earlier post, but I heard this from a friend and I couldn't resist sharing it with you guys. "I heard that LeBron was going to switch to ice hockey, since they only expect you to play for 3 periods"
  3. For the record, I'd like to point out that I haven't been involved in the past 3-4 LeBron arguments. And I don't plan on getting involved either. I'm not taking a shot at anyone either, so this isn't me trying to get myself involved or anything. lol
  4. In all fairness, I think we're pretty much all biased here. The extent of which varies of course. Edit: Jacko and I agree on something, so I must be wrong.
  5. I'm surprised that it's even close. I mean who'd have thought that pitching Freddy Garcia, Bartolo Colon, Ivan Nova, and AJ Burnett 4 out of every 5 days would bring the Yankees to first place after a few months?
  6. That makes win number 196 for Tim Wakefield. Only 4 more to go!!
  7. Derek Lowe is no-hitting the Marlins through 6 innings. He's only allowed 1 walk in that time.
  8. As long as Wakefield reaches #200 career wins, he can retire whenever he wants and I'll be happy. Just a few more.
  9. I have a feeling that this will be a really high scoring game. Both pitching coaches might want to update their resumes.
  10. I'm not going to argue the strength of the Yankees farm system, but keep in mind that the farm system is much more than the draft. Similarly, the Yankees make the majority of their advantage through the IFA market, where they are among the leaders. It's no secret though that the Yankees are nowhere near the top of the drafting teams. Part of that is their lack of picks (due to FA signing), part of that is due to picking at the bottom (due to having a good record) part of that is due to spending more time and money on the IFA market, and part of that is just not being very good at drafting.
  11. An interesting note, through around pick 500, the Red Sox have the 4th highest amount of BA top 200 picks, and when you weigh the picks (1 point for #200, and 200 points for #1) the Red Sox are also 4th. Similarly, the Yankees appear to be dead last in weighted points and 2nd to last in number of top 200 players. The Rays have 12 top 200 players (1478 total points) the Padres and Blue Jays both have 11 players (1293 and 1158 points respectively) and the Red Sox have 9 players (1117 points) while the Yankees are in a 4 way tie for 2nd to last with only 3 top 200 players, tied with the Astros, Angels, and the Dodgers. For the record, the Astros have 305 points, the Angels have 291 points, the Dodgers have 231 points, and the Yankees have 131 points. The Cubs only have 2 players, but they have more points than the 4 teams with 338 points.
  12. Maples was another guy that I had wanted for a while that ended up just getting picked by the Cubs in the 14th round. Damn it.
  13. Looks like the Red Sox are stocking up on lefty's in case there's a drought in the next few years.
  14. I was focusing on BA and PG.
  15. Maybe they are drafting players suited for Yankee Stadium.
  16. A retard with a point about how bland Boston's draft has been today.
  17. I don't mean HR picks as in power threats, or even hitters for that matter. I meant "HR picks" as in dynamite "slam dunk" picks with big names being taken later than they should be and Boston getting them late because of money. I meant "HR" in the metaphorical sense. And we haven't had a big pick thus far today. Keith Law said he loved our day 1 draft but wasn't really excited about what we've done thus far today. It's been bland.
  18. Case and point, the Rangers take OF Derek Fisher, a high rated pick that I wanted the Sox to take since the 2nd round. And the Rangers got him in the 6th round a pick or two after the Red Sox made their 6th round pick. FML. And as I'm typing this Josh Osich (another high ranked player I wanted) goes to SF I think shortly thereafter. JTFC Boston where are the HR picks?
  19. I understand, but it's been frustrating watching a lot of the top guys who slipped get picked up round after round while the Sox end up taking somewhat "safe" guys for the past few rounds. I just wanted one HR overslot pick. I'm sure that the Sox draft is and will be fine. I trust the Sox staff and they rarely let me down. I'm just not watching pick after pick anymore to see the Sox take someone I haven't heard of. lol
