    I wish we could make Hanrahan pay back the prorated part of his contract (minus the medical costs for his injury) so we can use that either to take on salary via trade or to pay the salary increase a replacement would get to come up from AAA to the MLB. It's one thing to suck, but it's another thing to suck and not play. Complete waste of $7M.

    Francisco Liriano has looked good in 3 starts for the Pirates. 5 1/3 1 ER 9 K's at the Mets. 5 2/3 1 ER 7 K's vs. Milwaukee. 7 0 ER 9 K's vs. the Cubs. 18 innings, 2 ER, 25 K's, 1.11 WHIP Not bad for someone who's ERA for the past 2 full seasons (and 3 of the last 4) has been over 5.

    Here we go!!! It seems like we could have lost the last two games by double digits and we only lost them by 2, in fact we very easily could have won the last one when we were no-hit through two thirds of it. Let's end this series on a high note. We need to cash in with runners in scoring position, and for a team that seems like it should hit HR's off of lefties, we have been getting beat by mediocre/decent ones. Let's hope Doubront's start yesterday was something to build off of. That can determine the outlook of our rotation for the remainder of the season.

    I think our point is that Lee isn't worth prospects AND a salary dump. He's probably not even worth his entire salary as a straight dump. We're (or at least I'm) not saying that some team isn't going to be dumb enough to take on the majority of the salary and deal a top prospect. We don't think Cliff Lee will come for free, and therefore I don't think we want the Sox to deal for him. Saying that he isn't worth it does not equal saying that a deal won't get done.

    Actually by definition, I think it does make a s***** hitter a little less s*****. However, it doesn't mean he's not s*****, which I think should be your point.
