  1. I remember when Posada was yelling at Farnsworth for not agreeing to throw the pitch he wanted and it looked like they were going to fight. That would have been an extremely dumb career move for Posada had that occurred. I'm predicting a career ending move.
  2. I don't understand how even Yankee fan(s) can suggest that what Youk did was worse than what Posada did.
  3. Rangers score on Murphy HR, 4-1 A's.
  4. Both aren't doing it for Boston?
  5. The Rangers are also down 2-0, although the A's left the bases loaded. And for my own cause, Adam LaRoche is 3-3 with 2 HR's and a 2B on the day. Not much of a small sample size anymore...
  6. If you jinx this like you jinxed the no hit bid....well you know what I'll do.
  7. If you jinx it so help me God I will kick you in the nuts. Edit: And you did.
  8. What state are you from again?
  9. Which one? There are dozens.
  10. Just a few things. One, the whole "Americans are fat and stupid" stereotype that much of the world buys into has nothing to do with the English. It wasn't started by us, and it's not even bought into much by us. Most of my mates here love the US and enjoy the company of American chicks. The main criticism about the US here is about Bush, and that's obviously dissipated after his tenure. And of course the age old joke of "(insert object here) is older than your country", but that's about it. Plus each country has their stupid people. But the fact that a bunch of British guys "don't make sense to you" isn't necessarily their fault. I'm not implying anything about you since I don't know you, for the record.
  11. I think you forgot the fact that I'm English. I process and urinate better beer than Presidente. Besides, you have it completely backwards. The women over here are horrible. The one thing we have (besides incredible intellect) is good beer. Especially in the UK and Ireland (not as much in continental Europe other than Germany) I'd definitely sacrifice and put up with American beer for American women. And between you and me, I'd put up with some Presidente to get with some Latin chicas.
  12. God damn it, I'm so depressed after looking at the box score. FML. I feel a little better knowing that I didn't watch the game though.
  13. I would like to see Wakefield back and as the long reliever. First of all, I am only seeing this scenario unfold because we'd get someone like John Lackey in the offseason, which would push Wakefield out of the rotation. If you look at our relievers now, few can give you more than an inning. We'd most likely be (happily) losing Wagner to FA, which would open up a spot in the bullpen AND net us 2 draft picks (which we'd lose 1 if we got Lackey) And, seeing how starter depth was necessary this year, I'd say that it's important to keep Wakefield and to keep him active (unlike Byrd who sat at his house for a few months) so it'd be easier to slide him into a rotation spot if (when) someone went down. Plus Wake's $4 million isn't expensive and it beats searching the scrap heap for a potential 5th/6th/7th/8th starter. Plus I like Wakefield and he's close to a few milestones I'd like to see him achieve. I'll miss him though.
  14. While I don't agree with Drew batting 8th, it seems to be working, and I'm not passionate enough about this particular issue to make a scene out of it.
  15. One of my friends (and his 3 sisters) got tickets for this game 4 rows behind home plate. It must be a great game to be at the park.
  16. I agree with a700 to an extent. I'm not going to call the Kotchman deal a failure yet, because I can at least follow Theo's logic at the time of the trade. Unfortunately for us, LaRoche has raked in the interim while Kotchman hasn't, and while Kotchman is a better fielder, I'm not sure if that is able to justify a difference between a post trade OPS of .589 (and Kotchman's will go lower after today's game) and .995 (which may go up for LaRoche after this game) + the $1 million that we gave to the Braves for the deal. While Theo should have known that LaRoche is a 2nd half player and has been his entire f***** career, I don't think it's fair to lampoon him for Kotchman's offensive inefficiencies, now at least.
  17. Just for the record, Adam LaRoche is .342/.420/.575/.995 in 33 games with Atlanta. And that's not counting the fact that he just hit his 9th HR for the Braves in that time span.
