  1. For the record, Buchholz hasn't been as bad as his stats may suggest. He's had a few really bad outings that skew the statistics pretty badly. If I recall correctly the defense may have abandoned him in one of those outings, but I'm probably confusing that with a Brad Penny start.
  2. Now I understand how frustrating it is to face the 2008 Dice-K, or the 2009 Papelbon.

  4. As long as every offensive player doesn't channel their inner Julio Lugo, then this game should be in the bag. Then again with how the last 2 innings were played, this is going to be a long game.
  5. Romero is trying to give us this game and it looks like we're not willing to accept it.
  6. For the record, Tazawa was sent down all the way to the GCL NOT because he was that bad, but because he will be able to be called up earlier than if he were sent to a different level. Normally, he'd have to wait the 10 days in order to be called up again (like Reddick, although the same injury exceptions apply), but the GCL season is over on Tuesday and Tazawa can be called up again afterwards.
  7. Awesome, now that this hinderance is fixed I can finally take my break from porn.
  8. According to Marc Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times, the Angels' deal for Scott Kazmir will be finalized within the hour. The Rays have yet to confirm or even discuss any of these reports, but Topkin is as close to the team as anyone. Kazmir is reportedly headed to the Angels for prospects Alexander Torres, Matthew Sweeney and a PTBNL.
  9. Not to put you over the top, but think about C: Victor Martinez 1B: Adrian Gonzalez DH: Joe Mauer
  10. And badass.
  11. Sound it out. I know English isn't your first language but you can do it.
  12. Really? I heard it fell through once and then was confirmed again. Are you reaffirming the first time it fell through or did the trade fall through yet again?
  13. I think the Rays just jumped at the chance to unload Kazmir's salary and get players back in return.
  14. Looks like the deal fell apart. Damn it, I was going to drive Kazmir to the airport myself. Edit: Now I'm hearing that the deal is back on. Damn it Twitter, make up your damn mind.
  15. That rotation would also be really scary if they played to last year's numbers. This year they haven't been that impressive, but the talent and potential are there. If all goes according to plan, that is one hell of a rotation.
  16. I believe the Rays are trying to free up some payroll so they can take Crawford's option. I'm cautiously optimistic about this trade, but I really don't know anything about the two guys coming East to the Rays.
  17. I believe that was by an NL team as well.
  18. Before you (or anyone) gets their hopes up, I believe that it was the Twins that claimed Rich Harden. The Cubs have also stated that they want prospects in return for the players they give up. To clarify, Aaron Heilman was also claimed by some "contending" team.
  19. I just think that it's a cheap move all around. There's no reason to f*** over Chris Carter or the Mets here. I don't think it hurts the Red Sox at all, but it does hurt the Mets and Chris Carter a bit. While I understand the tactic of screwing over your rival, for some reason this seems really cheap. Even worthy of the "J" word, but I'd rather not get banned by using it. While the Yankees were devilishly clever, I can't help but sit back and say, "What a douche"
  20. Just as good as your 3 day ban.
  21. I couldn't have made my point with as much precision and scathing sarcasm myself. Good job.
  22. There's a difference between rooting for the Yankees to win, and rooting for the team who is playing the Yankees to lose. I'd never root for the Yankees to win, but I'm definitely rooting for the Rangers to lose. It's just a coincidence that they are playing each other, and my desire for the Rangers to lose is higher than for the Yankees to lose right now.
  23. I disagree. I think making the playoffs is priority number 1. And taking that a step further, obviously winning the World Series is priority number 1. So therefore making the playoffs is priority 1a, and winning the division is priority 1b.
