  1. Does he still sound like an inbred Ray Romano?
  2. As much as I hate A-rod more than most things in the world, the fight was important not because A-rod got served, but because it pissed off our team for the remainder of the 2004 season. It showed that we weren't afraid of those money guzzling pricks and purse carrying swashbucklers. That moment defined our grit and swagger. The fight itself was overrated, but the moment certainly was not.
  3. I'd say the Varitek/A-rod fight and Pedro striking out 5 batters in his All Star start.
  4. I did think that we needed a better bullpen before the start of the season, but this wasn't what I was thinking.
  5. Because it's an NIT game. Nobody cares about the NIT. Calhoun at one point wanted to decline the invitation to the tournament all together, and some of the players don't even care. It's the NIT; the unwanted retarded cousin of the NCAA Tournament. I'd bet that the Women's Basketball tournament gets more viewers than the NIT.
  6. And this is why we need an emoticon of a smiley yelling at itself in the mirror.
  7. Let's see how fast Jacko turns on him and starts saying that he isn't any good.
  8. In addition, a lot of teams that Syracuse will be facing haven't seen the 2-3 zone with the length and athleticism that Syracuse possesses. It's hard to defend something you haven't seen before.
  9. I wonder if the Uconn women will get the #1 overall seed.
  10. This probably isn't the best thread for it, but it looks like the Blue Jays signed Cuban SS Adeiny Hechevarria to a 4 yr, $10 million deal. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/03/hechevarria-close-to-signing-with-blue-jays.html
  11. To make your job easier?
  12. That's not true. Committees generally look at close losses. Doug Gottlieb had an argument with this because he said that they should also look at close wins. Close losses factor into the eye test and are very much considered. It may have had a negligble effect this year due to this committee, but it is generally given fair weight.
  13. I will say that I thought the coach of the Virginia Tech team was very classy in his interview just after he found out his team didn't make it to the tournament. The ESPN anchor asked him, "Which schools when you found out they made the tournament instead of your team did you throw your hands up and say, 'We should have been in there ahead of them?'" And he simply said that he wasn't going to say anything because it wasn't his right to take away from the good feeling that coaches and players of those schools have, so he'll let the ESPN anchors do the talking for him. That's far classier than anything I'd have done. I'd tell a few committee members to go fornicate themselves with a tire iron. Besides, the coach had a point. He said that the committee changes each year and that its requirements for the tournament change with it. He said that there needed to be a set requirement (ie out of conference schedule, road wins, conference wins) that was the key factor in determining the field so that teams can schedule accordingly. It seems that MSU would love that.
  14. To be honest, I doubt that Mississippi State was the team that got screwed over the worst by the committee. In other words, I don't think that Mississippi State was the best team that got left out of the tournament. I'd look at Virginia Tech and Illinois and then MSU.
  15. It's an S-bracket, so the best #2 is paired up with the worst #1.
  16. As long as Duke, Syracuse, or Florida don't win, I'll be happy. I don't have much to worry about with Florida, but the other two teams being #1 seeds doesn't help my chances.
  17. I'm thinking Kansas, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, and Villanova. I'm worried about all the Big East teams as well, but the Big East was the best conference this year.
  18. That's why I'm happy that Uconn f***** themselves out of the tourney weeks ago, so that way there's no drama anymore and I've already moved on. I couldn't care less about men's basketball anymore. Heck, I'm not even filling out a bracket. The only think I could possibly care about is rooting against a few teams to win it all.
  19. Well if he hates the Patriots then he signed with the right team. He'll play them twice a year and have a better shot at winning than Buffalo or Miami.
  20. And some receivers, blocking, and coaching.
  21. I don't know, I want the Spurs to take him with their first round pick, which should be in the 20-22 area.
  22. Mississippi State has an RPI of .5687 which is good for 63rd. To give some perspective, Uconn is 66th at .5667. What hurts Mississippi State is that their strength of schedule is only .5312, which is good for 104th. For reference, Uconn has the 4th highest strength of schedule with .5992. So even though Mississippi State has a good enough record to make the tournament, their schedule and conference record aren't impressive enough to convincingly put them in. I think they will get in, but because other teams lost it rather than because of MSU's own merits. That said, I'm hoping that the Spurs draft Jarvis Varnado in this year's draft.
  23. Here's some more information on the condition if anyone feels like some light reading. Jacko did a pretty good job of explaining it. http://brainavm.oci.utoronto.ca/malformations/Cavernomas_index.htm
