  1. Technically we do, but only because there isn't an X next to our name, but that doesn't mean that we should waste our time with hope of the playoffs, only to be shot back down to the inevitable reality when the X eventually comes our way. I figured out that we weren't making the playoffs around the All Star game, and that's saved me a lot of time and false hope.
  2. Thanks, I had to spice it up a bit. Want to take bets and see how long until Suns notices?
  3. At least we're able to salvage something for our semi-useless pieces. And we can look forward to a reasonably good draft pick next year.
  4. Chris Balcom-Miller was the Rockies 6th round pick in the 2009 draft, and was rated the 9th best prospect in the Pioneer League and the 24th best prospect in the Rockies farm system. He was also the Pioneer League player of the year in 2009.
  5. Just after I type that, Victorino breaks up the no hitter after 7.1 innings.
  6. It's on ESPN for those that are interested.
  7. No-hitter still intact though through 7.
  8. And he walks the next guy...
  9. Hiroki Kuroda has gone 5.1 innings thus far against the Phillies without allowing a hit or a walk.
  10. Yeah, right after the WNBA.
  11. I'd love to join, I'm just not a Patriots fan, so I don't believe in entering a board designated for other team's fans.
  12. Same happens to me. After a certain point, threads won't become unbolded, even after I've read what's been posted.
  13. It's times like these where I wish we could draft draft picks in baseball.
  14. I don't think that it's necessarily a debate as to whether or not something needed to be done, but rather, whether or not these particular moves would be better in the long term of the team. I think that we'll all agree that moves needed to be made in order for the Sox to make the playoffs, however; I think that the real disagreement is whether or not those moves would be worth it, since they might hurt us in the longterm (giving up prospects, tying up money), AND, due to our injuries, might not even be able to put us in the playoffs anyway.
  15. I love making moves that make the team better, but if it doesn't get the team to the playoffs, then it's just a waste of prospects, money, and it worsens the team draft position (not like it's a huge deal, but worth mentioning nonetheless).
  16. And for once, it wasn't Dusty Baker's fault. (So we know)
  17. I'm just happier I didn't trade for him on my fantasy team (looking at you Rhet)
  18. It's ok, even though I should have been in the league in the first place, and should probably take priority in terms of the claims, I think someone else should join the league before I do. I've already joined another league and I want to focus on repeating as champion, so I'm not going to make the mistake I did with fantasy baseball by doing too many leagues.
  19. At this point, I'm only in for the business. I gave up on the team making the playoffs a long time ago, so I'm only interested in what we have to give up, vs. what we can get out of the player later.
  20. That might actually hurt us because it will be less likely that he signs with a team if that team has to give up a draft pick in order to get him.
  21. I'd only be interested in Damon if we can get the draft pick out of him. If not, then f*** it. Damon isn't going to put us into the playoffs, and we don't need him. And he won't be here the following year anyway, so we'd be better suited to give the young guys experience.
  22. You got some help because he's a huge Yankees fan. In any event, my power rankings were similar to his. I had ytrb first, myself 2nd, and you 3rd, and then a HUGE GAP, and then everyone else. And to ytrb's comment, I agree that JBay shouldn't be last, as I would put him ahead of Suns and Bsox's team. With that said, there is a HUGE GAP between the 3 of our teams and everyone else's team, and it's complete bulls*** that the final wasn't 2 of our teams.
  23. It's ok, I'm not taking it personally. I don't want to saturate the league in order to include me. Just put me down as a quick replacement if someone can't do it, or isn't active.
