  1. Wow. There's no chance in hell I'd touch him if we had to give up a first rounder. I'm not sure if I'd sign him if they didn't offer him arbitration (since he'd want more money if we didn't have to give up a draft pick.) Unless it's Mariano Rivera from the early 90's we're talking about, I'd never waste a draft pick on a reliever.
  2. I assume that's if Downs isn't offered arbitration and that we don't have to give up a first round pick to get him.
  3. Hey Jacko, can you bump up the redsox signees thread for me? For some reason, it's not coming up in my search.
  4. I think everyone except for Youker and Robi.
  5. On another note, I think we can make a team out of undrafted players that would beat Youker's team.
  6. If he's cheap, then go for it.
  7. I sent in my power rankings. For the actual voting, I think that we should do one matchup at a time, and that in the voting, we should have each team (ie if it's the 1 vs. the 8, then the owners of teams 1 and 8) should explain why their team should win. Similarly, for each vote, each voter should write a paragraph or two explaining why they made the choice they made. In my opinion anyways.
  8. I agree, that's a good idea. Are you going to do 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5?
  9. So, who are the playoff matchups?
  10. Don't worry about it. I wasn't offended by it, I just thought that you didn't know what a quality start was.
  11. It's not that it was bad, it just looked like a meatball, as if he were lobbing it to the plate. Umpires used to pause after his pitch and think about it before making a ball/strike call.
  12. Well you aren't the only poster here, and gamethreads are much more flooded than normal threads. Also, it's alot easier to use italics to indicate sarcasm. (In addition, the smiley faces work well with sarcasm too) With all due respect, your sarcasm wasn't obvious enough as multiple posters didn't pick up on it and thought that you were insinuating that Dice-K still had a quality start. If only one poster misunderstood your sarcasm, then that would be another story.
  13. For the record, the clear way to indicate sarcasm is to use italics.
  14. Wait, what? Nobody in this game had a quality start.
  15. I'm surprised that JD Drew didn't go on the DL after walking around the bases. Maybe he'll call in sick for tomorrow's game after having to jog a lot today.
  16. It's almost surprising that Dice-K is +21 W/L with the Red Sox.
  17. I think that the media should make a huge deal out of every one of A-rod's HR's. Granted, it'll be annoying to watch TV with constant A-rod coverage, but that means he'll go weeks in between HR's.
  18. Can I claim Anthony Ranaudo in the event that the Sox sign him? Bump. Can I claim him now?
  19. He was taken 3 posts ago (2 above yours)
  20. I'm not surprised to see Morrow have a near no-hitter, or a ton of strikeouts. This guy nearly no-hit the Yankees a while back when he was on the Mariners. He was the 5th pick in 2006 and drew a lot of comparisons to Joba Chamberlain.
  21. Damn it, I was looking forward to the Rays being no-hit yet again. That'd have been 3 times this year alone.
  22. Isn't that what porn is for? You'd be much better off going to some sleazy website than to bum off of our links to hot celebrities. Our photos (most likely) won't even show them naked.
  23. I guess that Berkman caught A-rod in the one time he wasn't wearing his helmet.
  24. I dislike everything about Fox. Fox News, Fox Sports, the fact that they had Family Guy and Futurama cancelled...
