  1. My point was that with 15 teams, it'd be an odd number, which would present difficulties when it comes to the voting. (someone would have to have a bye) And to your other point, I agree, as the baseball redraft probably would have been in the 2nd round by now. Granted, we had an 8 hour limit I think, but considering that the draft started yesterday, (and only 5 players have been chosen) you'd think that people would be online and have their picks ready.
  2. That'd make 15 teams...
  3. I originally expected the first 5 picks to be RB (with one of them potentially being a QB, since Brady would go quickly on this forum), but when RSFFL took Rivers, I felt that I needed to take one of the QB's.
  4. I'm not saying that Rivers was a bad pick, and I'm certainly not arguing that he's a bad player. I'm just saying that I was not expecting him to go first overall, and I wouldn't have expected him to be picked at this point either. With that said, I thought about giving into the homer temptations (especially if you picked who I assumed you were going to pick), but I didn't deem it a wise strategy, especially for me. I tried to be vague enough whereby I wouldn't reveal names of players who weren't drafted yet.
  5. Anyway, I'll get it started Team: Erin Andrews Likes It Raw QB: Peyton Manning HB: Ray Rice HB: Felix Jones WR: Brandon Marshall WR: Wes Welker WR: Steve Smith (Car) WR: Lee Evans TE: Dallas Clark RT: John Stinchcomb RG: Ryan Lilja C: Shaun O'Hara LG: Alan Faneca LT: Bryant Mckinnie DE: Robert Mathis DE: John Abraham DT: Jon Babineaux DT: Terrence Cody OLB: Brian Cushing OLB: Keith Rivers ILB: EJ Henderson CB: Terence Newman CB: Charles Tillman FS: Jairus Byrd SS: Bernard Pollard K: David Akers P: Matt McBriar KR/PR: Brandon Banks HC: John Harbaugh Bench: Sam Bradford QB Bench: Gary Brackett ILB
  6. I figured that much like in the Baseball Redraft League, we should have a thread where we piece our rosters together, so that it's easier to organise our teams in addition to consolidating who's been taken and who's still available. It'll also make it easier to compare teams in the end by copying and pasting from this thread rather than trying to sift through every post in the draft thread itself.
  7. Now it's boston22407's turn.
  8. Again, I agree, but the problem is, when everyone else is drafting a RB in the first round, you almost have to join them or else you're going to be at a disadvantage (depending on your draft position of course, otherwise you can cherry pick people off of the top of other positions) That also depends on your confidence in your digging abilities. Anyway, I'm not sure if one of my questions was answered. What I meant to ask was, let's say someone misses their pick. And another round goes by without them making up their (previous) pick. Obviously, once the 12 hours elapses it'll be the next person's turn, but when it's that person's turn again (in the next round), do we automatically skip them until they make up the pick, or do we give them the 12 hours before skipping that person for a second time. In addition, can the person that was skipped chime in at any time with his makeup pick(s)?
  9. I agree. I'm used to picking a RB first (as one usually would in fantasy football), but I didn't expect to get the 2nd pick and I didn't expect the first pick to be Phil Rivers. At that point, I figured that I had a better chance of getting a decent RB in the 2nd round than a top level QB, as we all knew that Brady would be picked almost immediately, and that Manning and a few other QB's wouldn't make it back either. Any bets on what the next pick is?
  10. You can say that again. I'm basically fighting the same battle in my other league. I'm also in the final 4, also the #4 seed (although I have the 3rd best record, but I'm the #4 seed because the #2 seed is in my division, and the #3 seed has a worse record than me but is leading his division), in addition, my opponent is also the #1 seed, is also the commissioner, and also has many similar players as Gom, and has a similar personality as Gom too. The only difference is, the yahoo league is a 1 week matchup, and this league is a 2 week matchup. This is going to be a photo finish.
  11. Talkpats.com
  12. Redemption perhaps? Maybe he should stick to batting right handed. Granted he doesn't have a large sample size, but his triple slash is like this: Right handed: 78 games, 145 AB's .310/.396/.497/.893 Left handed: 134 games, 299 AB's .204/.287/.338/.625 And that doesn't count the HR he just hit batting right handed in tonight's game.
  13. Geez, I thought that this would have gone faster...
  14. It's also Kilo's turn, assuming that the order isn't restructured to fit Suns.
  15. Screw that, I want to win this one.
  16. Peyton Manning, QB
  17. I have a few questions based on what transpired during the baseball redraft. 1. Can there be trades? 2. What officially happens when a person is skipped? (ie the next person can pick, but what happens when it's that person's turn again and they still have a pick to make up?) 3. What will the process be to determine who has the best team (granted, we don't need to know that now) 4. Can we message each other our picks and have the other poster make our pick in the event that we will be out when it's our turn? Edit: 5. Should we also have a "Clubhouse" Thread where we can post our teams in a consolidated fashion (ie each person posts their teams as they are being constructed, rather than having to sift through however many pages this thread turns out to be)
  18. Now you guys need to work on Logan Mankins.
  19. I don't think that "time" is the best word here. I'd go with something like patience. Because if the Sox have the guy develop at the big league level or develop them in the minor leagues, it still requires time until the player becomes the full package. The difference is, that the Sox and Yankees don't have the patience or the necessity to have the player in the big leagues if he isn't fully developed, primarily because they have the talent to work around the player, and because they are in a tough enough division where they can't afford the player to cause the team to lose games. I agree with your overall point, just not your word choice. "Time" implies that there'd be a difference in the amount of time it takes to develop the player in either scenario, or that the Red Sox and Yankees would develop their players in a different amount of time than other teams.
  20. Were there any members of Talkpats that weren't members of Talksox?
  21. I didn't mean to have such a negative tone. I just meant that I feel weird about joining a forum supporting a different team, not that I felt unwelcome or anything.
  22. I'm not a Patriots fan. And I don't think that anyone other than Red Sox fans should be here, and I think I'm being hypocritical by joining a Patriots fan board as a Jaguars fan.
