  1. Looks like the Yankees and Orioles are playing one another and the Rays are playing the Tigers. Some pretty good time to pull away from a few teams as a few are guaranteed a loss each day. Also Cincinnati/Texas and Oakland/St. Louis should be good.
  2. I have my volume off unless I'm watching porn so I didn't notice anything.
  3. I feel like having Papelbon and his salary (and potential prospect cost) might prevent us from addressing our larger concern, our rotation. Starters generate more wins/losses than relievers. What good is another good bullpen arm if we can't use it because our starters don't give us leads? I understand the point that wins are often more important than value. (In other words I'd rather pay $200 million for 100 wins than $50 million for 50 wins) Even though each win cost more, I don't think I'd watch a 50 win team and be happy that we have "the most value in the league" That said, I don't think adding a closer (when our bullpen has been a strength) is worth the prospect and/or cash, especially when it won't fill our biggest need.
  4. I guess given the fact that the Spurs picked at 28 and 58 I'm ok with getting Deshaun Thomas and Livio JeanCharles.
  5. From what I had read throughout the season, the Phillies wanted money and a good prospect, if not multiple prospects. I'd much rather get a starter, hell I'd rather have Cliff Lee than Papelbon, but if it's money and a decent/meh prospect then I'll be ok with it. In other words if I woke up tomorrow reading a headline saying that we got Papelbon, my first reaction would be "oh crap, what did we just give up" rather than "yay we got a top closer to solve our bullpen problems"
  6. I hope we just drive up the price to make the Tigers overpay.
  7. Damn, the Nuggets chose the guy I wanted with the pick right before the Spurs pick. I wanted Ruby Gobert.
  8. Olynyk used to be a guard and then he grew to 7 feet. I don't think he's a bad player.
  9. He was to me when I was growing up, mostly just because he had "Italy" in his name.
  10. Good thing our bullpen was relatively untaxed as we have Webster and Doubront coming up in back to back games. If only Lester didn't get hurt as he might have saved one of our best relievers an inning of work.
  11. Too bad Baltimore came back, but a win is a win. Still only 6-4 vs. Toronto on the season.
  12. And Gom imo. I'm not sure about Diony, I didn't know him that well.
  13. Gameday did indicate a slightly higher velocity from Lester which may also be encouraging, assuming he isn't hurt.
  14. If he can shoot 3's he can be the next white mamba. Boston loves unathletic white players. It's as if they live vicariously through them. Hell Kelly seems like as Irish of a name as it can get.
  15. I agree for the most part, with the exception of teams that can scout/stash foreign talent. So I'm not watching the 2nd round, it's been boring as hell rooting for a team that picks at the end of the first round.
  16. It's only gay for the first bit and then it's an ocean of mature celeb vag. It's a trade off.
  17. I tried very hard to word my thought without implying that I'd want to sleep with Jeter. Although if it got me a piece of all the women he slept with....
  18. I wonder if that's what the dudes sleeping with Bieber are thinking.
  19. Imagine how many women would be jealous though. I wonder if the transitive property would apply and you can convince them that having sex with the guy who had sex with Jeter is like having sex with Jeter directly.
  20. I'm a Spurs fan so....anyone but the Heat.
  21. I'm cryin at Lucas Noguiera trying to fit a tiny Celtics hat on a huge ass afro.
  22. I had no idea they were giving up their first round pick (16) and 2 2nd rounders (2014) for Olynyk (at 13).
  23. Good to see from Lester thus far. Some Velocity seems to be there and he has enough pitches left so he should be able to get us at least 7.
  24. Yeah we just need outs at this point. Although we haven't had a baserunner since that big inning I think.
