  1. The thing about those stats is that almost every team that starts that way has little to no talent on the field to work with, making it damn near impossible for them to make a playoff run. Think Pittsburgh or Kansas City of years past. This team is different. As long as we can figure out how to f***ing pitch and hit with RISP we'll be fine.
  2. f***. Yes. Pedroia is the man.
  3. Alright Carl... well done. Now use those legs and get into scoring position for Pedey
  4. That's more like it. Nicely done Doubront
  5. Time to see if the bullpen can make it two days in a row.
  6. Note to Buch: walking hitters and giving up extra base hits every other batter is recipe for disaster every time. Ask Dice-K if you don't believe me.
  7. It's mind boggling... every year it's the same s***.
  8. That's better. At least he got out of it with minimal damage.
  9. True... but it doesn't change what he's done AFTER that happened. Good pitchers take it in stride and don't let it get to them. Buch still hasn't learned how to deal with it.
  10. Jesus Christ Buch... thanks for showing up today. What the f*** is wrong with our starters that they can't remember how to pitch in April every year?
  11. Wow. I'm really at a loss right now... this is unbelievable. The season's far from over, but 0-5 is nowhere close to what I expected to start the season. They'd better figure this s*** out ASAP or the Yanks are going to have a field day this weekend.
  12. Bingo. These signings made me yawn when I first saw them hit the wire. I get why the Rays are doing it (bridge year anyone?) but it doesn't make them a better team by any stretch. They will be much worse than they were last year and will struggle to make any noise in the division. The Jays getting Rivera/Napolis AND not having to give up any cash to dump Wells' albatross of a contract is huge eye opener for me. They essentially freed up $75 million in one move, making their team better in the short term with two quality role players, and in the long term as well, since they're set up nicely to make a run in free agency next year or the year after if they're just a piece or two short.
  13. Yep. I'd be fine with bringing him in to work in the 6th-7th before turning it over to Bard and Pap late. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/12/relievers-on-bostons-radar.html
  14. Plan B for the Yankees? http://www.mlbsluggers.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/carlpavano.jpg
  15. I agree. Think Lee surprised a lot of people tonight with this deal. All the talk was about how long he'd been waiting to get a max contract and wouldn't leave any money on the table. Apparently, those sources were wrong.

  17. :D:D:D:D This off-season has been so unreal. Thank you Philadelphia.
  18. Done and done. Phillies Agree To Sign Cliff Lee
  19. Apparently the Phillies are shopping Blanton, Ibanez, and Kendrick right now in the hopes they'll be able to clear some cash off the books to offer Lee something close to what he wants. http://zozone.mlblogs.com/archives/2010/12/phillies_in_the_hunt_for_lee.html
