  1. Nice... QSfDKm is a must
  2. Good on Byrnes... better than sitting around doing nothing with his cash
  3. I would agree with them (for the most part). I think he'll turn it around sooner or later. He doesn't strike me as someone who's going to give up fighting anytime soon. Kazmir on the other hand has never really impressed me. He's had a couple nice stretches, but the Rays dumped him off to LA for a reason. He's become eminently hittable.
  4. Yep. As far as I've heard, that's going to be the case. Tito basically indicated as much in his reasoning for starting Papi yesterday over Lowell.
  5. Kazmir is toast. The Rays did well in dumping him off to the Halos last year, while they could still get something decent back in return. Now if Dice can just hold it together and limit the damage, we should be in line for the sweep.
  6. Sweet. That would be awesome if he can get back in by this weekend. Ells makes our lineup that much better IMO
  7. Hell yeah he is. I'm looking forward to seeing him pitch tonight. I absolutely hate Mike Scoscia... hopefully Lackey pays him back for taking him out against the Yanks last year.
  8. I have no issue with tasing that douche either. Kid got what he deserved.
  9. The Brewers are likely to shop Fielder around a bit this summer, especially if they're out of the race, which I suspect they will be. Having a year and a half still on his contract makes him that much more valuable and Milwaukee has to know that if they're going to trade him, they have to get a solid haul back in return. Personally, I'd rather we go after Adam Dunn, who's a cheaper alternative and could solve our issues short term, but if the price was right on Fielder, you bet your bippy I'd pull the trigger on that deal. Having him in our lineup as DH would be huge IMO.
  10. A lot of that is the result of the pitchers focusing more on holding runners... which they should have been doing all along. Keep the guy on first guessing and more often than not, you'll throw him out at some point or another.
  11. Agreed.
  12. Yep. He's going to hit the ground sooner or later. Especially once pitchers find his weaknesses and attack it consistently.
  13. I'm optimistic about the Sox being able to turn this thing around... mostly because of who hit well last night. Guys like VMart, Beltre, Hall, and Drew all hit the cover off... to win consistently, we need them to do that and not throw out 0-4 on the stat sheet every other night. If we can score 4-5 runs a game on a regular basis, I like our chances with the pitching staff we have.
  14. I think Drew will eventually come around, as he has done throughout his entire tenure in Boston, but right now his struggles at the plate are really hurting the Sox. He's not even working the count like he usually does... watching strikes and swinging at balls. He's pressing and it's showing in a bad way. That said, there's no reason for the Sox to contemplate doing anything with him right now. Get him in a rhythm and calm him down a bit, and he'll be just fine.
  15. In case you missed it, Pap was busy elsewhere... helping his wife with the birth of his first son. I'd say that's reason enough not to have him pitch last night. http://www.nesn.com/2010/04/jonathan-papelbon-wife-welcome-birth-of-second-child-gunner-robert.html Jonathan Papelbon had a very good reason for missing the Red Sox' games against the Rays at Fenway Park on Saturday. Papelbon's wife, Ashley, gave birth to 8-pound, 8-ounce Gunner Robert Papelbon, Boston.com reports. Red Sox officials announced the news in the Boston press box before the continuation of the ninth inning of Friday’s game. Gunner Robert measured in at 21 inches. He is the couple’s second child and will join 15-month-old sister Parker on the Papelbon family roster. Earlier this winter, the closer said Gunner Robert didn't have any special significance except being a "badass name." There's still no word if Pap celebrated the birth of his son with dancing.
  16. Exactly. I wasn't exactly thrilled with Ortiz and Lowell's approach during that inning, but it doesn't necessarily mean this team is finished unless we dump every good prospect we have in the system to Jed Hoyer to get Adrian Gonzalez. Ortiz has had several solid swings throughout tonight's games and I think that he'll come around much like he did last season. I don't think they should wait that long before addressing the issue, but trading away the farm isn't the answer either.
  17. My earlier post is confirmed...
  18. In Seattle, that would be true. That place kills hitters. In Fenway, I like his chances.
