    I'd say Lowrie's performance today should cement him into the lineup as the leadoff guy going forward. Speed isn't everything for leadoff hitters... have to be patient and capable of getting on base consistently in a variety of ways. Lowrie has that. Scutaro battled big time for us last year through a tough injury when he could have easily decided to hang it up for the season with the Sox pretty much out of it, and I respect him for it, but his time is quickly coming to a close for this team. He needs to be the utility guy right now while Lowrie is hot and hopefully Tito gets the memo on that.

    At what point does this slide into oblivion start to leave a lasting effect on this team's psyche throughout the remainder of the season? I mean guys like Pedey, Youk, and AGon are pretty mentally tough, but the rest of the club seems to let things get to them a lot easier.
