  1. His AAA stats leave something to be desired and he's starting to deal with a few injuries. Overall, I don't see a whole lot from the draft that has added to the system. The bats are good, the pitching not so much.
  2. Yes, it's really great.
  3. They didn't develop Schreiber. Winckowski and Crawford are just bullpen arms. We don't really know what Houck is, but it doesn't seem to be even a middle rotation guy. Sox need to develop starting rotation arms.
  4. If he's in A ball and needs to be put on the 40 man, maybe. That's clearly not the case though.
  5. I think we'd need to see more than one guy show some success to really believe it.
  6. Bloom hasn't shown that he's been able to do that.
  7. Guys that could be up by the end of 2025: C: Scott, Hickey IF: Mayer, Yorke, Valdez, Meidroth, Bonaci, Jordan OF: Abreu, Anthony, Rafaela Not all of them will be ready. However, we know that Devers, Story, Masataka, Casas, Wong, Refsnyder and Duran are most likely to be on the roster. Opening Day Roster 2025? C: Wong, Hickey IF: Casas, Story, Mayer, Yorke, Devers, Scott/FA OF: Masataka, Duran, Refsnyder, Abreu, Rafaela
  8. You always have a great way of not just moving the goalposts, but completely erasing them.
  9. The pitchers they got last year have been mediocre to bad. They should have went with a few more ERC types which are further away, but have higher ceilings. When you load up on below slot guys, you're really just adding to the pigpen. I worry about the same thing with this draft.
  10. Liu and Guerrero could turn into interesting late inning arms IMO. There's a lot of bats and not a lot of room on the BOS roster for them. Story's contract seemingly blocks one of the 2B/SS spots. Are they going to move Duran to LF? Will Verdugo be retained? Think outside the box and move Story to LF?
  11. The O's went from perennial doormat to contender overnight. The Sox could get there quickly depending on how the farm matures and if they spend their money wisely.
  12. They used to do draft and follow, but I believe that went away. I don't mind the shorter window.
  13. They say they are close.
  14. They have a good AAAA team. Just because they are winning games in AAA doesn't mean they have a good pipeline of talent ready to help BOS. Rick Lancelotti was mashing for the PAWSOX but wasn't going to be doing anything of note for the big club unless there was some sort of Donner Party/Andes Flight/Yellow Jacket incident.
  15. Also, we all knew there was significant injury risk to how Bloom constructed this starting rotation. It's not a surprise that it's falling apart.
  16. He can acquire a starting pitcher for sure. You just will not like the mileage on the arm.
  17. Bieber can also be a stand in for any number of other trade pieces.
  18. Perales has value now. I don't know if his value goes up or down, honestly. I just know that he'll take up space on the 40 man and the Sox have said they are looking to compete.
  19. The Sox have a mish mash of low ceiling guys that include command/control with lower velo and funky delivery or higher velo and command issues. These are the guys that can impress early on in the system and flame out by the time they get to AAA.
  20. If anything, they put Perales on the 40 man and Wikelman is available for the Rule 5 draft.
  21. @tylermilliken_ The hype around Yoeilin Cespdes is growing by the day. 25 Games (DSL) .342/.371/.550/.920 4 HR 7 2B 11/5 K/BB “Already, Cespedes looks like one of the top hitting prospects to come through the organization’s academy since Rafael Devers” - @alexspeier
  22. He's decent at building the farm. He's not good at building a competitive MLB roster. I think we can agree on those two points.
  23. Aside from Rafaela and Abreu, there isn't much to take note of in WOO.
  24. Most of the guys you mentioned aren't very good. Valdez is currently injured. Duran is called up. Murphy and Walter are in the BOS bullpen. None of the other names you mentioned offer any longterm solutions. If they left via MiLB FA, not much would be lost IMO. The talent is moving upwards through the system, but is currently in AA. The AAA squad is bad, especially the pitching.
  25. The offer was good enough that Eovaldi came back to BOS and asked for the same offer after receiving the TEX offer. BOS said no.
