I'd be more confident in Ng than Bloom. She was with the Yankees and Dodgers as Assistant GM for a long time. She made a few good moves as Marlins GM.

Ng would come in as CBO, or should. In theory, she'd be higher than the people that stayed.

Theo didn't really have a say as he came along with the group, I believe. Cherington predated the JH purchase so his people would have been already in house. I don't remember DD bringing anyone new in aside from LaRussa. Yuck!

I think you’re overstating the problem a bit. There needs to a clean slate, but I don’t think there were knives out for Bloom until after he was out the door.

But Henry believes he’s getting Mike Hazen, Kim Ng or an experienced GM/CBO. That person will be less likely to be interested.

I will agree that there hasn’t been enough change. Why is BOH there? What is the purpose of Sam in baseball meetings? I like Eddie, but there are too many JH pals hanging around. I said yesterday that 4-5 FO positions need to go so that the new GM/CBO can do their job.

Yeah, they probably aren't going to go over the CBT until the get into the playoff picture again. Makes sense to me. Wait to go over when you finally need that additional one or two pieces.

Devers - ownership was held over a barrel and was forced to sign a long term mega contract. Story - Xander's low cost replacement 6/140 vs 11/280. El Cheapo wins again. Yoshida - A just don't believe a 5/90 contract is worth mentioning? Anything under 20M AAV or 100M in total is just the cost of doing business these days.

I think a lot of the struggles had to do with the injury. He'll probably be fine.
