  1. Nobody should be untouchable.
  2. I agree that 2011 doesn’t measure to 1978. I think 2003, 1986 and 1978 are all kind of in a similar boat.
  3. CHB blamed the owners?!?!? OMG!!!
  4. Must not get out much.
  5. LOL wut?
  6. After reading what moon wrote, I'm fine if anyone wants to grade Bloom lower than a D+. I don't think you can rationally argue him as having a B- tenure.
  7. With the Ben regime, he didn't trade from the minor league talent, but I don't think they really added much to the minor league either. He lucked into Benintendi, but the remainder of those drafts were pretty bleak overall. If he didn't win in 2013, he is definitely worse than Chaim IMO. However, he DID win in 2013 so he gets a nice C-. Chaim gets a D+.
  8. You don’t believe sources from outside the organization?
  9. Nola will break down because of mileage, so they should bet on guys that typically can only go 130 innings a year?
  10. Why would you put Anthony in LF? He’s a good enough athlete to play CF, but will be great in RF in Fenway.
  11. Ownership believes they have a long term position for him somewhere if not manager. He’s not leaving the org IMO.
  12. They matter. Look at how this pen got used up this year. This rotation needs a dawg.
  13. No, someone like Theo.
  14. Yes, I do.
  15. He seems like a good fit for the Dodgers.
  16. Zero chance.
  17. Why sneak up to it if you don't trust the CBO to not accidentally go over the CBT like he did the prior year?
  18. He has a weird swing, but it's working so far.
  19. If he's the secondary guy, I'm fine with it. I don't want him to be the Opening Day Starter.
  20. I'm sorry, but innings matter. Gray and Snell don't throw the innings that Nola can.
  21. No, I think the indecisiveness in prior trades prevented him from helping the here and now. If he had gotten under the CBT in 2022, they would have probably gone over in 2023. Now that Henry is potentially on board with spending more money, they'll need someone who won't hem and haw over deals. They need someone who can be truly decisive and bring guys to Boston rather than waiting out the market the way Bloom had.
  22. Is Montgomery still a second tier guy, or is he good enough to be top tier?
  23. notin floated 10 years (after 5 years, still have 5 years 150 left comment).
  24. I think there's no chance they get two of the top tier guys. I just don't see it happening.
  25. I'd take Nola for sure. He's more likely to pitch all year and pitch a Complete Game once in a while.
