  1. If something is hard to do, should they just give up and not try to do it?
  2. If the Sox can add Yamamoto and trade for Burnes, it puts them in a great position in the division. The Yanks added a big bat, but still have a lot of ??? in the rotation aside from Cole. The Rays are looking to get rid of Glasnow and are always churning through TJS with their pitchers. The Jays missed out on Ohtani and are perennial middle of the pack. The O's are young and hungry, but haven't added and probably won't.
  3. What later moves? If they keep hoarding prospects, more guys will be gone via the Rule 5 process. May as well start clearing up space now. The Dodgers are not known for holding onto prospects until the end of time.
  4. I'm at work and anxious to avoid doing work. What do you expect me to do? Not post on a weekday? Impossible!
  5. IDK, he tanked once the rumor mill circled. He doesn't seem like a guy that can live up to pressure. His best season was 2020 when no fans were in attendance. I don't see him having a career year unless it's Yankee Stadium driven.
  6. I'm not sure that it matters that they traded away Verdugo and how it relates to Mookie Betts. Are we going to relitigate the Betts deal when Wong is no longer in the org too?
  7. On no! I'm not really concerned about a 2 fWAR guy doing much damage. Like I said before, I hope he has a career year and the Yanks give him an Ellsbury type deal.
  8. Part of building the farm is to help your MLB through trades...
  9. He was worried about the tax implications of playing in CA and wanted to make sure he wouldn't completely screw over whatever team he played for.
  10. He's been pretty great at SS. If he can just stay healthy, I think he'll be productive but that's why you don't intentionally buy damaged goods.
  11. Better than a year where nobody is available.
  12. They'd be punting on the CBT for the next 5 years. Henry should take note.
  13. You give up prospects and then get a full year to negotiate with the player to extend prior to FA. The goal would be to not have Burnes (or whoever) not reach FA.
  14. Dugo will be better at Yankee Stadium most likely. The trade may look "bad" at the outset. I'm not really worried about it. Moving deck chairs.
  15. The trade is really: Verdugo Robertson Santos for O'Neill Fitts Weissert Judice O'Neill isn't as good as Verdugo, but he fits the RHB hole the Sox have and the prospects the Sox received are a lot better than what they gave up. Seems like the trades are fair swap today. I had no issue with either move.
  16. Per reports, Slaten has a much better chance of sticking than most other players taken, especially Drohan. There's a 50/50 chance that Fernandez and Drohan are back with the Sox this year.
  17. I'm sure he can. Will he? IDK.
  18. Once the prospects are ready, the payroll will start to decrease and the reliance on expensive FA's will go down. Possibly try trading Story for payroll relief? Honestly, they need to do something different to show the fans they care. Managing the CBT the way they have hasn't worked so far. 2004: Cashed all their chips in 2007: Used prospect capital to get #2 2013: Most unlikely championship and really feels like the most due to pure luck 2018: Used prospect capital to get #4 We've been in the wilderness ever since. Need to run it back and use prospect capital via trades and promotions to get #5.
  19. Oh, and Judice debuts at 57. I like that Song is holding strong at 60.
  20. Slaten is 24th, about where we thought as well.
  21. Fitts is ranked 11th as of today.
  22. They signed him and we all knew about the current injury situation. 2 years later, he needs to prove his worth by playing a full productive season.
  23. I'm sure he would have been allowed to spend up to the CBT. He just didn't trust himself to not go over again.
  24. If the Sox don't spend this offseason, it's on Henry IMO.
  25. They always try to find some sort of excuse. I think there is rot that comes directly from Henry's office. Yes, we got 4 championships because he purchased the Sox, but he is currently holding the organization down.
