  1. The Red Sox aren't mum on anything when it comes to trying to cover their ass with PR.
  2. I like when Baez swings at sliders beyond the LH batter's box. Good player!
  3. JH's definition of "legitimate" were still far below what he got paid by the Dodgers while under contract and not on the open market.
  4. I'm not going to read far back in this thread, but I can't believe many people would complain about the trade at all. The trade was fine. The extension was stupid. The Sox farm system fell to 30th because they had some miserable drafts under Ben and Dave, did some IFA shenanigans and traded a bunch of prospects. Hard to have a strong farm system when you do that.
  5. Wong is a GOOD catcher, bad bat.
  6. But was smart enough to dump ******** Jeff Weaver at the right time.
  7. Did DD make a mistake in NOT trading a decent prospect like Craig Monroe?!?!?
  8. My mom's maiden name is Moonslav!
  9. That's how negotiations work?
  10. DD didn’t have any prospects left to deal his last year.
  11. Trevor Story should be a big factor. Casas probably won’t be a black hole in April.
  12. Why are they more than a couple of players away?
  13. DD rebuilt the Tigers. He could have done it here if he was told to.
  14. What 3 straight months?
  15. Is this a Braves thread?
  16. I thought the only person with multiple accounts was UN (Dutchy/Imperial).
  17. "This is getting out of hand! Now there are two of them?!?!"
  18. $225 is just not enough in this inflationary market!
  19. @BOSSportsGordo Red Sox projected salary arbitration numbers (via @mlbtraderumors): Nick Pivetta: $6.9M Alex Verdugo: $9.2M Luis Urias: $4.7M Reese McGuire: $1.7M John Schreiber: $1.3M The Urias amount is high. The others seem fine IMO. Verdugo's is small enough to deal away.
  20. No, he's not ready to be a MANAGEMENT guy. That's what Chaim's job was. The CBO needs to manage the organization and all the people below him. It's much less about baseball than the GM position.
  21. Yeah, everyone is moving to Florida. This is not really news? Tampa already has a local fanbase that is younger (per demographics) and watches the games (per tv ratings).
  22. "Look at me, I'm the baseball guy now."
  23. Maybe they also have determined they want to lock up Abreu at very cheap dollars for a few years? IDK. I don't think Sam is a baseball guy.
  24. Day games: 951 OPS (145 tOPS+) Night games: 694 OPS (79 tOPS+)
  25. Casas is a yes. Bello is a no. He's a 3rd starter most likely. Some people were saying he was a future ace, but I don't see it. I think his CEILING is a #2. Per fWAR, he was tied for 99th place for starters (Gray and Taillon).
