    Settling on a different player each season is far different than throwing 4 guys at one position in one year like the Red Sox have continuously done at 2b. LAD LF '25 Conforto 129 Games '24 Teoscar 115 Games '23 Peralta 108 Games NYM CF 100+ Games Nimmo '23 > Bader '24 > Taylor '25 NYM 3B Baty '23 > Vientos '24 > Timeshare '25 Boston Red Sox 19-25 at 2b: The only player to amass over 100 games at 2b over that time period was Christian Arroyo, with his highest GS in a season at 51! It's just not the same.

    Wong has played 29 innings at 2b since '22. Hard to count him.

    Looking great in the uniform doesn't always provide on field results. That's why scouting has become less important than metrics over the past 25 years.

    Trading Hoerner or Shaw would immediately alter the Cubs’ plans for the coming season at least, and moving Shaw would have a longer-term impact since he only just made his MLB debut in 2025. Hoerner is a free agent next winter, and with Bregman now locked into the hot corner, the thought has been that Shaw could take over from Hoerner as second base. (The Cubs are also considering Shaw as an outfield option to expand his versatility.)

He said as early as the GM Meetings that they weren’t motivated to trade Christian Walker and had no interest in moving Isaac Paredes. He again spoke about those corner infielders today. “Right now, both of them are still part of our roster. We have plans for both of them to play. So right now, the plan is for both of them to be there,” Brown said.

    Maybe: Story came in with a known injury that was bound to take him out and eventually did lead to TJS. The other two IL stints were due to a fractured hand by being hit by a pitch and dislocating his shoulder awkwardly diving for a ball. If we squint, we could say that it was just a case of bad luck and expected TJS that was widely known at the time of signing.

    They think Roman is good enough to play all three positions at Fenway if he has to. Duran is the worst of the 4 to them.

    I don't know if they should have Romy, DHam and IKF on the roster together. That's a lot of redundancy. What's the point of having Hamilton? At least Eaton can IF/OF.

    If you have an agreement in place, you don't sign IKF. 😎

    Romy just isn't a great platoon partner for Mayer at 3b. He hasn't played a bunch over there and what we've seen has been uninspiring. I guess that's where IKF comes into play? My guess is Mayer gets a longer leash vs LHP.

    If nothing significant is going to happen, why say Breslow has multiple fires going right now?

    If he's had multiple deals going on, why are the over the 2nd CBT and have no 2b right now? It makes no sense. Two of the deals you mention are straight salary dumps. Maybe that is what he has planned. Oh boy.

    Maybe earlier in the offseason. To do it on Feb 6th when time is running out seems foolhardy TBH.

    Duran will be 30 this year. Never back down. Stick to your guns when you have a good point. He got slower. He hit worse last year. He could be a one year wonder.

    676 OPS is a step in the right direction. Only 1 HR in 61 AB's though.
