  1. Their career OPS splits aren't all that different. Refsnyder has played 1B, but not 3B. Dalbec > Refsnyder going forward. Refsnyder vintage '22 is better than Dalbec, but we aren't seeing that again just like we aren't seeing Dalbec vintage '20 again.
  2. It's showing that they are listening and engaged and hey here's a story!!! Wasn't that funny! Look over there!!!
  3. Looks fine to me. Sandlin could have helium depending on how he performs early, probably more so than Fitts.
  4. He wouldn't even put the effort into a project like that. He has Sam to tell everybody what he wants and then he f***s off to wherever he goes for a few months.
  5. It's just Henry now. He's running the show.
  6. It depends on the terms to me. I'd rather they lock up Casas.
  7. C - Wong, McGuire 1B - Casas, Dalbec 2B - Grissom, Reyes SS - Story 3B - Devers DH - Masa 5 OFers - Duran (L), Rafaela ®, Abreu (L), O'Neilllll ®, Refsnyder ® That's one extra player. Either Dalbec, Refsnyder or Rafaela goes. Now that the Sox have potentially Rafaela and O'Neillllll in the OF as RHB (along with Dalbec's career 855 vs LHP and corner OF usage in AAA), what is the need for Refsnyder? Refsnyder will turn 33 in May, can't hit RHP at all and doesn't play any defense. I don't see the point in keeping him around.
  8. Justin Turner's 18% k rate isn't walking through that door.
  9. Story had a 37% k rate the first month after coming back from the IL. No way was he going to get his numbers back to normal after that. Let's see what it looks like this year now that he's "healthy." He used to be a 25% k rate guy, but it bumped up to over 30% in BOS.
  10. If they were moving Refsnyder, it was because they were going to bring in another OF bat. Not sure they are going to do that now.
  11. I think there's some people that are upset that Eddie Romero didn't get the job and some people that are just bastards that like to start whisper campaigns with people like Pete Abraham and Sean McAdam. I don't know how pervasive it is, but keeping BOH and others around seems dumb? At least set up Crag to succeed.
  12. I'd go back and search Pete Abraham's tweets, but he blocked me. WTH?
  13. There were a few quotes right after he was hired and some complaints here and there.
  14. It's why I don't see a reason to put Rafaela back in AAA. He won't learn anything there. He's not going to become a patient hitter in 45 games in AAA. It didn't work at the start of last season. It won't work this season. Just let him do what he does.
  15. Really hate that guy. *looks down at my watch*
  16. Why would various members of the FO and ownership all say wildly different things this offseason? For PR purposes, shouldn't there be a united front? Why would the budget be reduced from last year if it's not even close to hitting the CBT to begin with? If the prospects don't work out, what is the next phase of bridge planning? Were you unhappy with the amount of candidates that backed out of the interview process for the CBO position and what does that say about the perception of this franchise across the league? The outlook of this team is as poor as it has been since pre-1967 with the numerous below .500 seasons. Is the pressure of trying to follow a sustainable model in the manner of the Rays maybe too difficult a task? Would using financial might while developing a farm system be better like the Dodgers? How do you feel about the unnamed FO sources that have spoken out against Crag since he has been hired? Do you think it would be better to have everyone on board and supporting him?
  17. Now is the year to figure out if it's worth keeping Abreu/Rafaela/Duran around for the long term.
  18. There's also always some unanticipated injury. Just because it looks like a roster crunch now, doesn't mean there is really an issue.
  19. Hard to say where they'll be slotted Of guys with over 50 throws, Abreu had the #10 strongest arm in MLB last year. +1 Fielder Runs in 51 attempts. O'Neill was a 0 in about 200 attempts. O'Neill is faster than Abreu though.
  20. Only 22 pitchers threw 70+ games last year. Winckowski - 60 Martin - 55 Bernardino - 55 Jansen - 51 Whitlock pitched in 46 in '21. I'm sure he could throw consistently in the 50's.
  21. @jcmccaffrey Rafael Devers was about as outspoken as he’s ever been saying he was disappointed the team didn’t add more this winter and even at the trade deadline last year
  22. https://twitter.com/redsoxstats/status/1759997554521935888 Raffy gives ownership a ringing endorsement.
  23. Don't blame me, I'm voting for Ted Williams' frozen head again. Slugger is running as his VP.
  24. As a REALIST, let me just say that the Sox will go 162-0 if they win the first game and 0-162 if they lose the first game.
  25. Even a little Adalbertoish!
