  1. Yes, I've watched a few of their games. I thought I'd end up checking out a lot of Portland games early on, but haven't seen any yet. I've also watched a few WOO games and a couple innings of Greenville, but nothing substantial.
  2. Oh come on. 800? That's a nope. Only 7 teams scored 800 last year.
  3. I always need eye wash after logging out.
  4. He's above average for LF. In CF? Probably below average. His athleticism plays up, but he doesn't have great instincts out there. His jump on balls is good because of his burst speed, not his reaction or route running. His arm was 102nd out of 151 in the league last year for OFers. He's a better fielder than 2024 Benintendi.
  5. That August dragged his 888 down with a 640 OPS. APR 832 MAY 962 JUN 742 JUL 844 AUG 640 SEP 656 First 2/3 good, last 1/3 bad. Easy enough to spot the difference.
  6. It's clear that Bloom was indecisive and that was what all the reports stated. Other teams didn't even want to pick up the phone when he would call. It's clear that Breslow is far more decisive in how he has handled trades and working with other teams. Seems easy enough to put two and two together.
  7. The lack of loft has been concerning going back to last Spring Training.
  8. He'd have to get there first and staying healthy is no given. Also, an August callup to AAA is probably too late for a September callup to MLB IMO. I assume he would follow more of the Xander/Mookie progression and would be in WOO for 40-50 games. He'd have to be called up in June/early July for that to work. With his injury track record, I just don't see them rushing him as there would be a tendency for him trying to do too much. He topped out at 91 games before. He's not going to play 150 this year.
  9. It's the second quarter of week 2 and the damned QB threw another pick!!!!
  10. From all reports, they were more concerned about the trade deadlines and Blooms inactivity than bad FA signings.
  11. And when the Sox tried to pry the O's FO guys away from them for their open CBO position, they said no.
  12. Through 7/25/23, he had an 888 OPS. That's 2/3's of the season.
  13. Brennan Bernardino is 32!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Mayer - injured in '22 Mayer - injured in '23 Mayer - rushed to MLB in '24? It doesn't make sense. I could see Anthony getting called up and maybe Teel. Mayer is a good player, but would need to bang the door down the way Benintendi and Devers were and I don't think he's that type of hitter. They'd be better off bringing him along slower than the other two.
  15. It's the lack of RHB. Even the young guys coming up are LHB... I'm totally not concerned about it.
  16. They ran into some great prospects though. A lot of other teams are picking high in the draft and missing. O's have had a bunch of hits lately.
  17. No comment. I get the excitement for his extension, but I think there was less than a 50% chance that he was going to make over 50M over that time period. Dude just hasn't hit AT ALL at the MLB level. Sure he can field, but those guys aren't making a ton of ARB money.
  18. He was terrible early on last year too. Maybe he can turn it around?
  19. The Delmarva Shorebirds camerawork is just brutal. All the video was from behind the plate like it was 1955, but filmed in row 10 at McCoy Stadium.
  20. I wasn't all that interested in Salem's lineup to start the year, but here are some of my early season thoughts: 1. Bleis is far too passive of a hitter. He's not even patient IMO. He does a similar thing to Casas where he'll take a count 3-2 and strike out looking all without taking his bat off his shoulders for 6 pitches. I know the SoxProspects guys are high on him and maybe the low A umps are bad, but he's pretty boring to watch in game right now. Maybe this is similar to what we saw out of Anthony last season? The pitchers are just so bad that he doesn't want to swing? 2. Jhostynxon Garcia has an underrated bat. This dude really makes a lot of good contact. He's been a little overshadowed by his younger brother, but he also has a little bit of pop now that he's filled out. He's no longer the listed 160-165 lbs, there's no way. Scouting reports mention pull side power, but I've seen him hit the other way too. Ranked about 10 spots too low on SoxProspects IMO. 3. Johanfran Garcia really filled out and not in a good way like his older brother. Garcia now has a "catcher's build" in not a good way. He can still hit, but if he'll need to remain a competent catcher if he's going to make it to the bigs looking like this. He's currently ranked 18th, but I think he'll start trending down unless he's absolutely murdering the ball. 4. Nelly Taylor just looks like a ballplayer. He's an athletic lefty that all arms and legs. Seems like a very good all around player whose floor is AAA. Swing is great. Looks like he knows what he's doing in the box moreso than most other low A guys. I wouldn't be surprised if he's called up to GRE before Bleis. Should be a riser in the prospect rankings. 5. Antonio Anderson is not a SS. He's also kinda slow? Maybe he's like Benintendi where he looks athletic, but then the metrics just show he's a tick too slow? IDK. He's young and has a long way to go with the bat. Just the newest version of Cutter Coffey. Not seeing it right now.
  21. After Martin blew up, I switched to the Salem game.
  22. I would have just said "Devers is no Mike Lowell." Lowell was probably the best 3b the Sox have had in the modern era, ignoring Adrian Beltre.
  23. You said the game wasn't a sellout.
  24. In 3 starts, 5.1 innings was still his longest start. He needs to really start to pick it up.
