  1. https://theathletic.com/5248054/2024/02/05/boston-red-sox-2024-fan-survey-results/ “If this ownership group is not committed to winning and not prepared to show it in a demonstrable way by signing free agents to field a complete, competitive team, then why should we as fans commit to the team?” Amazing comment. Probably someone really smart and handsome wrote that on their survey. The survey results were GRIM... Seems to be a free story so have a look.
  2. He was much better at SS. If Holliday doesn't pan out, maybe it's a mistake moving him? Holliday has a worse glove too.
  3. Foulke blew out his arm when Tek jumped onto him and Foulke held him up at the end of Game 4!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Actually, Gunnar played 10 more innings at 3B than SS in '23.
  5. @BOSSportsGordo . @keithlaw has released his new Top 100 Prospect list, and the Red Sox have plenty of representation: 8. Marcelo Mayer 22. Roman Anthony 32. Ceddanne Rafaela 54. Kyle Teel 88. Miguel Bleis
  6. Well this doesn't make me feel good at all!
  7. That's not really out of the normal for Foulke IMO. It's not like what the Phillies did with Lorenzen.
  8. With Oil Can, it's hard to say. He's an unreliable narrator. He said that he found out he wouldn't pitch Game 7 the day of and ran off and cried. He had a known drug problem and maybe Mac saying "he was drunk" was a polite way of saying he ran off to do crack to help cope. He had a very volatile season (Can Film Festival, 21 game suspension after a run in with Rice and leaving the team all due to not being picked for the All Star Game, injuring his arm in a tussle with the cops). If we believe that he was using substances to cope with his problems throughout the season, it's not farfetched to believe that he was hurt enough to do something stupid prior to Game 7 after hearing that Mac was going to start Hurst instead.
  9. Almost as obvious as the Red Sox need to trade him ahead of time.
  10. Couldn't make it the whole 90 days?
  11. Departed: Z Weiss Mosqueda Fernandez New: Melvin Adon (AA most likely) Mark Kolozsvary (AAA arm) All other moves are A ball or lower.
  12. Ok, but then a fan should never say "oh the reason he got injured was X, because fans can never know."
  13. Song was added last year. Booser and German both pitched for the org last year too.
  14. Can short guys even barrel the ball anymore? We need another short king like Pedey. I guess Altuve is the same height. Kemp has always been slow though. Altuve was faster when he was younger.
  15. Yes. The only other memory I have of the Steamer is going to the final game of 1989 when he and Rice were retiring and the crowd started to chant for him in the later innings.
  16. I could never. I named my first dog after him! RIP to a real one!
  17. Even with his little legs, he's faster than your boy Tony Kemp!
  18. Well in that case!
  19. I just have to beat it into the ground for a little bit longer and then find something new.
  20. O'Neillll - needs to stay healthy and hit like '21 or whatever was his one good season Abreu - needs to hit similar to how he did in his SSS year, not a given Rafaela - hasn't hit above AAA, may never Reyes - bench guy that was DFA'd, who cares McGuire - horrible, I'm 100% out on him Refsnyder - only good against LHP, weak side DH due to bad glove? There is a little bit to like and a little bit to be concerned about.
  21. The sweet release of death.
  22. 9 year old me is crying in my bunkbed again. FU Bob Stanley.
