  1. That's 1 year at 5.9 fwar. Rendon went 5.9/5.9/6.8. Xander didn't have that in his arsenal.
  2. Letting Bogey go wasn't a mistake. Not offering him a lower contract ahead of time was. Letting Mookie go and not offering him 375M was a mistake.
  3. I think he tried the "be competitive while rebuilding" but he should have torn it all down in '22.
  4. Very chaotic.
  5. Also, your listed '23 split is only for Corpus Christie.
  6. Valdez: 393 OPS MLB in '23 703 OPS WOO in '23 559 OPS WOO in '22 I don't care about his inflated offensive numbers from TX. It's not a surprise that both he and Abreu so a decrease in production right after leaving hitter friendly MiLB parks in TX. Every scouting report on Valdez talks about his platoon issues.
  7. He's better than out 38-40 slot guys too.
  8. I agree on both accounts. It's specifically why I dealt Valdez for a non-40 man guy.
  9. I agree, Bloom is a bad GM.
  10. Too loaded up on ice cream. "Don't ask those tough questions again unless you want the free Coke machine to vanish..."
  11. See, if we were really on the payroll, these BTV deals would be getting done!
  12. They should have tried harder because they should have given Mookie a counteroffer! Mookie should still be a Red Sox no matter what. Ownership FAILED! FACT!!!
  13. Rendon was coming of back to back to back 5/6 fWAR seasons. That's not where Xander was then.
  14. They were in a clear rebuild. They should have dealt everyone in '22. Why keep holding onto these guys year to year. Let them all go.
  15. They get paid to write about A KID'S GAME!!!!!!!! +1 Crackerjack
  16. He's an MLB platoon hitter for sure. He can't hit LHP at all. He can't field any position.
  17. How about that SLG? If he doesn't have Abreu's pop, it's not going to work out for him.
  18. Less than 280M because the market wasn't there yet and the Padres overpaid.
  19. They have a really tough job. Rushing to the ballpark to get to their seats to watch batting practice. Mingling about after the game for a few quotes. Heading to a hotel to write 500 words about how the Sox lost 2 out of 3 in Oakland. From their twitter feeds, it seems like their biggest concern is stadium food.
  20. Per BTV: Valdez to COR for Comp Bal Pick A Jackson Cox
  21. Dunand is ARod's nephew that they signed last week.
  22. No, it's on the reporters for not asking. Like, what? The Red Sox are wrong for letting Mookie go because they chose not to faithfully negotiate. The Sox beat reporters are wrong because they heard Mookie say "they never offered me 300M. Go ask Bloom." and never thought ask a follow up to anyone else. I'm allowed to be annoyed at a whole host of individuals.
  23. None of us are insiders. It's easy to say "the Sox didn't counter offer" because it was never reported. It's easy to say "the Sox could have tried to offer more money since Mookie signed an extension prior to hitting FA." There were so many posters who wrote crap about Mookie's mom and COVID and Mookie being greedy and Mookie not really liking Boston just as a way for themselves to cope with Mookie leaving. At least posters that say "the Sox should have tried harder to counter" actually live in the real world.
  24. @ChrisCotillo Michael Fulmer gets a 2 yr minor league deal with $1.5m major league salary in both years, per source. Incentives max out at $2m in 2025.
  25. But we never got a note about "we asked FO about Mookie's comments and they didn't want to discuss." Mookie's comments just hung out there and nothing...
