  1. He's too busy stalking Red Sox players at gas stations.
  2. Why is CHB providing cover for Wormtongue now?
  3. The knock on YRod is that he's probably not even a starter.
  4. We're naming the new Red Sox Netflix series that was announced.
  5. What do you mean?
  6. They still anticipate a starting rotation acquisition and an OF acquisition! I just think they haven't updated that page since Sam adjusted the payroll and they are being conservative with it.
  7. The Bagwell trade sucked, but I don't think anyone thought at the time that it added to the Curse of the Bambino. They already had Boggs at 3B. Sometimes trades just bite you in the ass, especially with prospects. Letting one of the best players in the game leave is more akin to what happened at the end of 1980 with the Red Sox.
  8. Sounds steep for an unproven guy.
  9. Tali me banana, Kluber!
  10. @ByRobertMurray Corey Kluber has retired after 13 seasons in the majors, he announced on Instagram.
  11. Sox can't compete with a big media market like St Louis.
  12. I read the Wikipedia entry.
  13. He's a f***ing bastard. I don't know what that guy's problem is.
  14. You're using Whitlock and Houck to figure out who the closer is for 2025 IMO.
  15. CHB's book states a local minister came up with the idea of a curse that had been put on the Red Sox and not Bill Lee. Where'd the Bill Lee thing come from?
  16. All the tap dancing around is definitely worse for them. Their PR has really gotten them into trouble this year.
  17. It could fail, but Jansen is out the door at the end of the year anyway and I don't think this team is going anywhere this season.
  18. I think it was worth it to see if he could start. Now we know it didn't really work. Time for him to be sent to the pen for good.
  19. I don't think they have to sign both guys. I think Montgomery is a decent acquisition. I wouldn't sign Snell. My point was that they are so far under the cap that I don't understand all the dicking around. They could overpay on one year deals and make this team competitive.
  20. It would help enormously and I think both of them could take over closing???
  21. It's fine if they don't like Snell and Montgomery. It doesn't mean you just pack it in. You can sign guys on one year deals to get you to next season (Gibon, Flaherty, Paxton, Miley all did). Just not spending is unacceptable. Also, don't tell me that Fried, Bieber, Buehler and Wheeler are without flaws.
  22. There hasn't been a reasonable explanation as to WHY payroll need to be reduced. If they want to not go over the CBT, it's fine. Staying well below the CBT for now discernable reason doesn't make sense. They could have at least tried to load up on short term deals.
  23. Jansen is a good closer, but thinking either Houck or Whitlock could close isn't far fetched.
  24. Anyone paying full price for a ticket this year is a dope.
  25. Nightmare on Jersey Street
