  1. @LouMerloni Grissom is coming too. They need a guy that can Play SS and hit LHH. Alvarez or Sogard. Pick one
  2. Hamilton and Valdez aren't IFers!
  3. He's just the 2B while they work on the Xander extension. Nothing to worry about. Smart move to get him late in Spring Training even though he suffered through an injury all last year with the Rockies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. What the f***? I can see keeping Dalbec, but Hamilton? Valdez is kinda useless on the roster too. He's a LH DH and they already have Masa. Weird as Hell IMO. I'm not a huge Reyes guy, but I'd keep him over Hamilton. Wonder if they are adding someone not in the org or just leaving room for a WOO transaction?
  5. I didn't remember. I just went back and looked at the replay on the MLB app. You can see the 3b coach communicating with Duran on where to be. Cubbies 3b was well into the OF grass. If the ball is caught, Duran is stuck and no run is scored. If he's tagging up, he scores either way unless it's the LFer that gets to the ball. Kind of a weird play IMO.
  6. Hard to say. I saw both at the same ST game. Fernandez still has great stuff. His issue has always been health. If he beats that problem, maybe there's a good conversation to be had.
  7. Agreed. Braves were expected to be a playoff team and needed to roll the dice on another starter. The Sox were on the outside looking in and probably needed a long term solution in the IF. ATL had the prospect that was blocked. Sox had room under the CBT to deal. Win/win.
  8. Duran would have made it back in time since the 3b was in OF near the SS. Nobody was covering the bag.
  9. September callups are now just 28 I think. I'd get rid of all commercials during the inning.
  10. Fernandez has a higher k rate and lower xFIP than Slaten.
  11. A half a decade was about how long Sale spent on the IL here.
  12. He will have missed one month. Not the end of the world considering what has happened to the rest of the squad.
  13. Who cares? He was only here for one more here. He's due to be injured at some point. Grissom has the potential to be a long term solution. Sale does not.
  14. Uwasawa was hit hard in AAA and pitched like a little leaguer in Spring Training. He'll most likely look more like a Bloom replacement.
  15. You think Slaten's 154 BABIP is likely to hold up? 0.55 ERA and 3.35 xFIP
  16. @DanBFox1287 Chris Martin: 2023 K/9: 8.1 2024 K/9: 9.5 2023 BB/9: 1.4 2024 BB/9: 1.6 2023 FB Velcoity: 95.7 2024 FB Velocity: 94.9 2023 Whiff Rate: 23.3% 2024 Whiff Rate: 31.3% 2023 BABIP: .301 2024 BABIP: .406 This season is setting up a lot like 2022 for him. Rough start, strong finish IMO.
  17. It might take a while to see what he can be.
  18. I'm not wading into that portion of the argument.
  19. Congrats to former Red Sox Dustan Mohr ('06): Dustan Mohr, a Fort Wayne man who was an outfielder... from 2001 until 2007 and served as Northrop High School’s assistant baseball coach until about 2021, was originally charged with child solicitation, child seduction, sexual misconduct with a minor and dissemination of matter harmful to minors in August. In March, he pleaded guilty to child solicitation, child seduction and sexual misconduct with a minor in exchange for the dissemination charge being dropped. Mohr’s 14-year-old victim gave police evidence of sexually explicit text messages and photos she received from Mohr, according to a probable cause affidavit written by Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Nicholas Keefer. She also told police Mohr inappropriately touched her.
  20. Wrong. Just look at what he'd be paid in league minimum for the next 3 years. How much would he make the following 3 years in arbitration? 30M at most if he really really hit? So 33M for 6 years vs his current contract. It's just not worth the risk of overpaying someone for no reason when your owner doesn't want to go over the CBT.
  21. Joely xFIP 2.62 Bernardino xFIP 4.00
  22. He doesn't give up hard contact, doesn't walk anybody and doesn't throw a 4 seamer. That's a Breslow guy all day.
  23. I'm just saying that's a compromise that would be necessary to be made for time saving if they got rid of it. I don't really care either way. I do prefer shorter games.
