  1. I don't think many people really wanted Snell. ERod, yes. Gray has been great through his first 3 starts.
  2. @SoxProspects Chase Meidroth went 3-for-4 and scored a run in today's 5-3 Worcester Red Sox game one loss. The 22-year-old infielder is currently slashing .294/.479/.373. The hits weren't falling in early on this season for Meidroth, but that's turned around. 479 OBP! If only he hit the ball with a little more authority.
  3. And if he leaves and is successful, it's not the fault of Sox coaching. Sometimes players just need to turn the page and move on. Dalbec is good enough to be a 100 wRC+ hitter in MLB. He's just in his head.
  4. @SoxProspects A strong outing for Matt Duffy in his start for @SalemRedSox today- 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 43/56 strikes. The 22-year-old righty leaves the gave with a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth. Duffy was last year's 4th rounder. His previous starts this year weren't amazing. Connelly Early was drafted a round later, is the same age, but is starting his first full season in Greenville rather than Salem.
  5. To me, the last spot was initially between Whitlock and Houck with Crawford as the #4. I think Whitlock showed an improved pitch mix in Spring Training that bumped him over Houck, but we know Whitlock's inability to stay healthy. With Houck's newfound control, he gets the definite edge when factoring in health. Houck has still not pitched 300 career innings in MLB for various reasons (health, effectiveness, pitch mix).
  6. He blew the call.
  7. 5 tool guy with upside. He's probably going to go level to level and it will take time.
  8. Not saying he's injury prone, but that this particular injury was bad enough that he had to take a significantly longer time to rehab than expected. This may impact his overall ceiling going forward.
  9. Zanetello made his season debut last night going 1-4.
  10. Dalbec isn't a great 1B. Reyes isn't a great 3B. Dalbec is an adequate 3B. I can't evaluate Reyes at 1B.
  11. While he's only 32, he last played Indy ball in 2022 and has done zip since.
  12. Cron hasn't caught on anywhere. No real Spring Training. Would probably need a few weeks in AAA to get up to speed.
  13. Not if you're comparing this April vs previous Aprils.
  14. Jordan has struggled this year, but his k rate is down. He has a really low BABIP, but is also not consistently making great contact and doesn't pull the ball as much as he should.
  15. The only concern with me for Riemer is that this injury has taken him a loooong time to get over. He should have been ready to start the year from what I read. He has a Meidrothy bat, but may be a better defender. We just have enough guys that are perpetually injured that we put into our plans.
  16. I mean, they just extended Rafaela for 8 years and he can't hit a lick. If they went year to year with him, they'd most likely pay him less. There's a whole bunch of ways to waste money.
  17. Stop being negative all the time!
  18. 1. Ceddanne Rafaela SS 2. Jarren Duran CF 3. Tyler O’Neill DH 4. Wilyer Abreu LF 5. Rob Refsnyder RF 6. Enmanuel Valdez 2B 7. Connor Wong C 8. Bobby Dalbec 1B 9. Pablo Reyes 3B No Devers. Masa still sitting in detention.
  19. Garrett Cooper DFA'd. 1B option?
  20. I want to make it to the postseason 100% of the time.
  21. The IF doesn't matter. Beane couldn't do it. Sox have NEVER done it with a low payroll. Why have a low payroll if you have the means to spend?!?!?
  22. The 20 day rule is in regards to player consent. The player can consent to a longer rehab. With Grissom, they could just option him to AAA and have him start the year there anyway.
  23. 4/12 was his first WOO appearance. He'd possibly come up May 1.
  24. @ByAndrewParker Source: Red Sox lefty Joe Jacques has been claimed by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
  25. That's a big IF. Henry is a big fanboy of Billy Beane and he was never able to reach the Promised Land.
