  1. Your posting is midseason form though.
  2. The stadium was cool 25 years ago when you could still bring a cooler in and it wasn't completely run down. It was still one of the worst facilities in the league at the time, but fun for fans.
  3. My friend used to live at a former superfund site in Oakland. His "apartment" was about 5,000 square feet and included things like a recording studio, stage, rope swing and there were about 10-20 other apartments in that complex. The people there were cool. One of the guys was a former surfer from South Africa who had been bitten by a Great White.
  4. It really depends on the neighborhood in Oakland.
  5. There isn't a cliff at 30, 31, 32. It's just more of a risk for certain players, but mainly pitchers. For Masa, and most Japanese hitters, there is a one year learning curve built in. See: Seiya Suzuki and Hideki Matsui.
  6. He's 28. How much better would he get?
  7. Was that good or bad for the Sox? For a platoon player, does that help?
  8. The last time the Sox had a top 10 defense: 2014.
  9. It's ok, we can just wait until next offseason to sign a pitcher! @rotoworld_bb Phillies, Wheeler in early stages of contract extension Oh?
  10. Crawford had back to back seasons of 5 ERA at AAA. Winckowski was seen as a bullpen arm most likely which pushed his ranking down. Any bullpen arm would likely not be a top 10 prospect going forward. Winck made it that high because of the sad state of the system.
  11. Promoting Dermody.
  12. Firing Bloom because he didn't want a setup guy in the Mookie trade....
  13. Astros or Phillies?
  14. @JeffWilsonTXR We talked to #Rangers GM Chris Young. He doesn’t expect many more roster additions. Said club will remain open on Jordan Montgomery but also said TV uncertainty beyond this season is a factor. Wild that Montgomery will wind up on a team that is not the Red Sox or Rangers.
  15. I don't believe the two situations are comparable.
  16. ERC is still young, but he's not holding velo and missed a lot of last season. SoxProspects have been very bearish on him recently. At one point, he was about 10 points higher in their rankings.
  17. I checked on Quora, it wasn't answered there either.
  18. Ok, they took money to throw games. Seems bad! Worse than what Rose did and what Rose did was really bad. Astros stealing signs is akin to what the Jays were doing in the Sky Dome back in the late 90's/early 00's according to various reports and what was openly stated on Red Sox broadcasts at the time. The Astros just beefed up that operation.
  19. Starting over? They didn't do a complete tear down of the system. They just swapped Bloom for Crag. Crag then came in and is going to add to the pitching development. The positive steps with Bloom were: hoarding draft picks and..... What else did he actually do? So far, the 2020 draft hasn't panned out. The 2021 draft relies heavily on Mayer who struggled last season, while others drafted near him have done great (Jordan Lawlar). If Roman Anthony isn't an everyday player, the 2022 draft is a complete miss.
  20. Please, sir... Don't.
  21. Betting on losing a game is worse.
  22. Going over the CBT and causing the QO comps to get f***ed HURTS the rebuild at the expense of the MLB team.
  23. @SmittyOnMLB Red Sox’ Kenley Jansen has lat soreness, sidelined from throwing for now
  24. Dumb owners who don't know how to manage their money!
  25. In this specific instance it would be (a) since nobody saw McGuire do it except for the cop.
