  1. He's a one year rental. No way does he get someone higher than Fitts IMO.
  2. O'Neilll is having the second best season of his career. Romy Gonzalez has been a better scrap heap find than the dreck Bloom brought in. Even Westbrook filled in better than the dingdongs that Bloom would throw unto the breach.
  3. Breslow hired Bailey and Willard. All three have impacted the pitching immeasurably. Houck went from being a potential bullpen arm to leading the Sox rotation. Kutter is now a solid middle of the rotation starter. Criswell couldn't find success in Tampa, but is now a decent 6th option for the rotation. Breslow traded for Slaten in the Rule 5 draft and he's now a reliable setup guy after only pitching 8 innings in AAA. Kelly has bounced back to have the best season of his career. The minor league guys are all TBD (Perales did see his stock skyrocket into the top 100 this year due to the new pitching staff), but it seems like the direction is much better in one year under Breslow than it has been since the Theo days.
  4. @brendan_camp DSL Red Sox Red threw a combined seven-inning no-hitter against the DSL Reds today. Yodrian Beltre: 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K Jeison Payano: 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K
  5. Yup, they'll probably come to the correct conclusion that Mayer can be moved. Not for a rental though!
  6. Here's what Mike Andrews from SoxProspects projected for the Sox signings: Top Ten Rounds (entire amount counts towards bonus cap) Round, Overall Pick, Player, Projected Bonus 1. Braden Montgomery $6,000,000 2. Payton Tolle $1,300,000 3. Brandon Neely $700,000 4. Zach Ehrhard $400,000 5. Brandon Clarke $457,900 6. Blake Aita $150,000 7. Will Turner $350,000 8. Conrad Cason $1,000,000 9. Hudson White $150,000 10. Devin Futrell $150,000 After 10th round, above $150K 12. Brady Tygart $500,000 ($350k counts against the cap) After 10th round, possible $150K or less signs (count $0 towards cap) 11. Steven Brooks 13. Shea Sprague 14. Alex Bouchard 15. Joey Gartrell 16. Griffin Kilander 17. Yan Cruz 19. D'Angelo Ortiz Total spent towards cap using these projections: $11,007,900 Red Sox Cap: $10,521,600 Red Sox Cap +5%: (no draft pick penalty): $11,047,680 Super wicked early projected not to sign 18. Cole Tolbert 20. Ben Hansen
  7. Isn't Slaten hurt right now? Not that the Tigers need a pitcher today, but they may not want damaged goods.
  8. I'd assume you could get Flaherty for a package that didn't include top 10 prospects. Seems fine?
  9. Maybe wins are the new undervalued assets by the current day GM's!
  10. No mess. Not fuss. Just pure impact.
  11. I don't know. You've sat out a few seasons!
  12. They could move him, but I don't see a reason to since they have a need at RHB. He's a streaky hitter. You have to stick it out with him.
  13. Maxbialystock A Red Sox fan named Hugh Emp9 Slasher9 moonslav59 bosoxmal Jack Flap StephenCurry30 devildavid illinoisredsox notin Oscars S5Dewey harmony The rules are the rules and the facts are the facts!
  14. If you need more information, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Federal Citizen Information Center, Pueblo, CO 81009.
  15. The rules are the rules and the facts are the facts. If someone is disputing a rule or a fact, then I'll dispute it. Otherwise, no.
  16. Heaney was still back in the Bloom days. He's another guy that leads with a 4 seamer that is ok, but nothing special.
  17. Well I don't know about any of that!
  18. If he thinks he can compete next year, he may want to keep Eovaldi around and have that option trigger.
  19. Hudson had a better away split than home (610 Away/1006 Home). Gomber is the reverse. His metrics were even worse than Gomber's though. Wonder what Hudson would look like as just a sinker/slider/curve guy though? Three pitches all at different velo with different movement.
  20. Gomber also has been a better pitcher at Coors than away (245 BABIP). His number 1 pitch is the 4 seamer (41%), but it has a negative run value. If he had a secondary pitch like a cutter or splitter, he could be an option, but not a very good one. I don't see it with him.
  21. Twins fans seem to hate the deal, so maybe it's fair? I just think they don't need to add another LHB at 2B.
  22. And it's worse in Greenville. Zanetello has been stinking up the joint in Salem too.
  23. The rules are the rule. I thought I made that clear?
  24. If Perales didn't get injured, he'd help a lot in a Crochet deal. I'm if any of the other Sox arms move the needle.
  25. Campbell is not a good IFer. If he's in BOS, he's in the OF or just in a UTIL role.
